SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Here's When The Movie Reportedly Becomes Available On Digital Platforms

Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to break box office records across the globe, and we now have word on when exactly the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios movie will be available to buy on Digital platforms...

Spider-Man: No Way Home passed the $1.5 billion mark at the worldwide box office this weekend, but for those of you anxious to be able to watch the movie from the comfort of home, we may have some good news for you. According to various reports, the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios threequel is set to be released on Digital platforms starting February 28.

There's no word on the DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray release, though the covers for some versions have already been revealed. With Spider-Man: No Way Home still performing so well at the box office, you can't blame Sony for not rushing to get physical copies of the threequel on shelves.

What about streaming? Well, while the movie could ultimately find its way to Disney+ sometime next year as part of a deal made between Disney and Sony, that's unlikely to happen in 2022. Instead, the wall-crawler's latest solo adventure should be available before then on Starz and Netflix.

We're still anticipating a renewed marketing campaign for Spider-Man: No Way Home that highlights the movie's surprise guest stars in an effort to create one final surge of ticket sales. It seems redundant to hide spoilers a month after the movie's release, but this secretive approach has paid off thus far (remember, it's earned that $1.5 billion without being released in China).

@Joshwilding Actually if you check Amazon there is a date of March 15th that the Blu ray could be released. That could be wrong or course but that is the word going around for right now.

Whenever it hits streaming, I might just watch all Spider-Man movies in the same week to get the full experience

@X75 - Yes, people who are doing what has to be done to mitigate the impact of omicron, whether by choice or due to local lockdown measures, deserve some damned consideration where spoilers are concerned, while everyone else just keeps wishing it away as they go about their business as if nothing is happening.

Buying it day one. Now that I’ve switched to all digital there’s less of a sense of urgency since it’s not like they are going to run out of copies like they did when I was getting the Target exclusive Blu-ray’s so normally I add a movie to cheap charts and wait for a deal but this movie is a day one buy and rewatch for me since I don’t feel comfortable risking a second showing given all the omicron cases in my area

I find it odd that this and the two previous Spider-Man movies, that were produced by Marvel/Disney and are part of the MCU, are not available on Disney+. I mean, I get the whole rights thing with Sony, but I would've thought that Disney would've been smart and would've struck a deal for streaming rights as well.

@bcom - Yes, I’m sure the explanation is that they’re not smart, and streaming rights never occurred to them.

@HarryBloodscreaming - I sense sarcasm in your response :-)

What I'm meaning is that surely Marvel could've secured or at least shared streaming rights due to the fact that they're MCU movies. I'm guessing Sony has a streaming deal with other providers and since they're the rights holders for Spider-Man then the movies go to those services instead. They probably pay more money to Sony than Disney would.
