First thing I would like to say is, we are one article away from the grand finale of my Spiderman run. Things are being positioned into place in this article. Things are getting crazier. I've had a good and long run, but all good things must come to an end, so I’m doing one more article in the universe after this!
Now… We begin with
Amazing Spiderman arc 18: GOBLINCIDE
Jack O Lantern( a psychopathic murderer raised by the crime master and obsessed with his archenemy, Flash Thompson)
Roderick Kingsley( a genius and criminal mastermind, the one true Goblin King in his own words)
Proto-Goblin( a carnivorous monster with a hatred of the deceased Norman Osborn)
Gabriel Stacy ( last time we saw him he was obsessed with getting approval from his father, and he has a deep hatred of Spiderman. He is intelligent, manipulative, and has psychotic tendencies. )
Lily Hollister(former Menace, now trying to be the more heroic Queen Cat)
and Sarah Stacy (superhero the Ghost Spider father is Norman Osborn)
One thing I should mention with Gabriel is visual shorthand. Originally, he was designed to look like Peter Parker, because the original plan was to make him the aged son of Peter. Marvel cut that and made him Norman’s son, but either way, Sin’s Past would have been awful. I originally brought this character back in my second article as a way of fixing him, because I had just fixed One More Day and wanted to ride the wave by fixing the second worst Spiderman story. I think I succeeded there by making Gabriel a competent and messed up villain you could really hate. When I pictured him, I pictured him a certain way though. I might have said this before in a previous article, but if not, I’ll say it here. Part of a great villain is visual shorthand. Superman is the quintessential superhero, Batman is a darker character, so darker colors. Venom is Spiderman, but twisted and inverted. He's larger, so more powerful, he has a sharp toothed smile, so crazy and predatory. With the villain Lee Price, I purposely got rid of his anime hair for something more fitting. I gave him a short, sorta shaved look, to tie into his military background, and show he was utilitarian. At the end of the last arc he was in, he ended up with a hybrid of multiple symbiotes. So, his Venom is similar to his original Venom design, but green and red, to show multiple symbiotes. With Gabriel in my first story using him, I changed his hair in my head. He no longer had a Parker cut. I, after looking through multiple haircuts, chose the high and tight hair, because it seems to in the cultural consciousness show that you think your better than everyone else. It's visual shorthand. Anyway, onto the story. I spent too much time talking about haircuts and there's a lot more interesting stuff coming up next.
Liz Allen, who has grown increasingly insane over my run due to the stress of what her and Harry called “The Osborn Curse”, the idea that Norman Osborn’s influence will cause anyone connected to him misfortune long after he's dead due to his goblin legacy. She's rounded up every known Goblin, with the exception of her son Normie and her currently incarcerated for a crime she committed husband Harry.
They've been placed in an Alchemex designed super prison hidden in an unknown location that was pitched to SHIELD but shot down due to the excessive inhumanity of its operating system making even suggesting putting criminals in it a war crime.
Liz Allen will be explaining how it's inescapable and she's ending the menace of the goblins once and for all. She's also tracked down and destroyed all of Norman Osborn’s various secret bases. She leaves them in an empty vault, ProtoGoblin tries to eat them, is beaten back temporarily, and they begin to realize they aren't getting any food from the food dispenser and it's been a few hours. Personalities clash, and Proto Goblin tries to eat them. Sarah will convince them to work together, her brother joins her and is surprisingly well behaved, Jack-O-Lantern is reluctant and has an urge to kill. Lily and Proto Goblin are able to get the vault open(she has some black cat gear hidden on her person) and they find that the area of the prison beyond their cell is a constantly gyrating maze filled with other, empty vaults.
Meanwhile, the Parker Family, the Slingers, and Black Cat have united for a meeting after learning all the goblin based villains(except Harry) are missing. It's at first believed they're planning something, but no one believes Sarah or Lily could have betrayed them. There were signs of a struggle where Lily and Sarah were captured at the Slinger base as well. It's possible it was the new chameleon, as she involved Proto-Goblin in the first place, but this seems too large scale. Silk and Black Cat use their ties to SHIELD to learn that the goblins were transferred out of their prisons. It's possible a third party could have been impersonating SHIELD and had hacked the system.
The goblins, led by Sarah, will continue along the maze, avoiding death traps, and eventually finding the storage area for food, which robots should be moving onto conveyor belts into the cells, but were shut down. Eventually, Jack O Lantern and Kingsley will rebel, Jack will be pushed down a bottomless pit by Gabriel. Proto Goblin will go nuts and try to eat them, but they escape. After a few days more of infighting, near fatal misses with Proto Goblin, Kingsley is in chains so he can't try to turn against anyone, Gabriel actually trying to manipulate his sister to join him and kill Lily, in his mind, before she kills them. Sarah and Gabriel fight because he thinks she's betrayed him by becoming a superhero, she has and she's fine with being a superhero because he's insane. Peter heads to Harry Osborn in prison to question if he knows anything about this. He dodges questions, Peter realizes he was never The Rose, he was protecting someone, and heads to Alchemex with MJ and Black Cat.
The truth is finally out, but Liz had anticipated things falling apart, and has already escaped into the open ocean on her yacht with her two children, who have no idea what's going on. Liz is realizing she's lost her company because of the goblins, and hopes they all die. Meanwhile, Proto-Goblin separates Lily from the others, who fights for her own survival, but they both end up separated by over a foot of bulletproof glass in a trap before either is able to kill the other. We will learn Proto-Goblin had a wife(mentioned in his first appearance) before he was turned into a rage filled monster who can't even think clearly for more than a few minutes before its primal insanity returns. He wants to kill and eat all of them because the goblin was forced onto him, but they all chose it, like Osborn chose it, so they must die!
Sarah and Gabriel argue, as Sarah considers being trained as ninja assassins by Norman Osborn so they can one day gain the mantle of Green Goblin abuse and Gabriel doesn't. She reveals to him something he doesn't know, Gwen isn't their mother. Osborn created them from a Gwen clone for the specific purpose of messing with Peter Parker’s life years later after he thought he'd moved on from Gwen. Gabriel is fine with that though. No matter what Osborn did, he's their father, and he created them for a purpose! Osborn brought them into this world, without his guidance they would be nothing! They were created to ruin Peter Parker’s life, and then to kill him! What else would they be without that? It's their reason to exist!
Anyway, Sarah will separate from Gabriel and Kingsley to go find the missing Lily, believing she could still be alive. On earth Doc Ock is able to hack into Alchemex and discovers that they have been sending the goblins to an abandoned prison, partly constructed, but not fully operational, THAT ORBITS THE EARTH. Seeing as this prison isn't fully constructed, Sarah is able to get into an area she shouldn't be, and discovers portholes revealing the earth below them.
Peter borrows a quinjet from the Avengers, and takes the Parker family up into space along with Kaine from the Slingers. Black Cat is tracking down Liz Allen, climbing aboard her yacht after riding up to it on a jet ski in the dead of night. Allen will reveal that the space station was made to offer prisoners no contact with the outside world and be fully manned by AI and robots. If you escape your cell, the prison rotates like a maze until within a few days you end up right back where you started, at your cell. However, the prison wasn't finished. It's shaped like a letter O. But right now, there's a missing portion, and without it, instead of being pushed back to your cell, your pushed into the vacuum of space!
Gabriel and Kingsley(who's been unchained by Gabriel) have discovered the same after finding some windows that showcase how the prison isn't finished and determining they've spent the past 2 days walking in a very large circle. Gabriel theorizes that Liz Allen had to get out of here somehow, there must be a bay for ships, and decides against finding his sister to try and save her, as she's not a goblin anymore, she's a spider, so she must die. He promises Kingsley that that once they return to Earth, both Peter Parker and Liz Allen are going to suffer.
Lilly has been making attempts to convince ProtoGoblin not to eat her once the rooms change again, and we get a hint maybe he could become better, if not for the permanent changes caused to his mind by being experimented on by Norman Osborn. It adds a bit of tragedy to his character. With Lilly, we will learn through an inner monologue she has some sort of dark secret she's hiding from Black Cat, and she is not who she claims to be.
The Parker family and Kaine make it to the space station, using a map they've been sent and information on the ticking clock from Black Cat, and begin searching for those captured, May is very excited being in space. They split into two groups both with blueprints of the moving prison, Peter and Kaine and MJ and May. The prison maze is moving, causing ProtoGoblin to be able to attack Lilly again. She's saved just in time in by Sarah, and they end up escaping ProtoGoblin just in time as he ends up trapped in a hallway after a path closes. Kaine and Peter will end up finding ProtoGoblin, who they're able to knock him out, as he's rabid and can't be reasoned with. Peter carries ProtoGoblin away, Kaine finds Lily and Sarah, Roderick Kingsley has no interest in working with Gabriel, as while Kingsley is a sociopath, he's one of the more sane goblins, and usually saves his vendettas for after he's amassed enough power to feel he's going to win. So he's just following Gabriel Stacy until they find a way out. Both are getting desperate.
They run into May and MJ. Kingsley surrenders, as the most important thing to him right now is survival, Gabriel attacks May(back when we first met May, she had just been taken from a British orphanage by Gabriel and was going to be mind controlled in one of his plans when MJ and Peter found her. He's trying to grab her to get that plan restarted, but he's taken down by MJ almost immediately , and everyone reunites, having used the maps to find secret passages and areas they could use to get back towards the docking area.
It's explained Jack o Lantern is dead, unconscious ProtoGoblin, surrendered Kingsley, and a handcuffed Gabriel are taken away by Lilly, Sarah, Kaine, and the Parker Family. They get back to the Quinjet, while on Earth, Liz has been circling her yacht like a slasher movie villain trying to kill Black Cat with a shotgun. She's realized Black Cat has used the ship radio, and knowing anyone surviving on the station is going to be saved, sends in a message to some people in Alchemex to open all the airlocks. After doing this, the cat and mouse game ends with Black Cat knocking her out and calling the coast guard. I should mention Normie and the wheelchair bound Stanley are asleep right now below deck.
Gabriel gets loose, attacks his sister, and tries to steal the jet, but the airlocks open, Proto Goblin awakens, attempts to fight what he's about to do, if he attacks, he will be sucked into space and die, but he can't control himself, attacks Gabriel, and in the end both him and Gabriel are launched into the vacuum of space. Everyone else manages to get into the ship. They look for Gabriel and Proto Goblin, finding the deceased body of Proto Goblin, but Gabriel's is gone, maybe he's alive, but more likely, he's just been sucked further into the vacuum of space.
Kaine and Sarah reunite, so things aren't all bad. Back on Earth, Peter speaks to Harry, who knowing his wife is going to prison, has vowed to try and get out of prison as soon as possible to take care of his kids, who have gone to the longtime family nanny. Black Cat and Lilly prepare to restart Silver and Black international.
Liz Allen heads to prison. Peter sits on the roof of the building he lives in. He's sad, distressed, wishing he had realized what was going on with Liz sooner, wishing he had made it to the space prison in time to save more people. MJ approaches, tries to cheer him up, they still saved lives. They didn't save everyone, but they still saved people. It helps him a little bit hearing this, but still, they need to be better. Later, he meets with Doc Ock, who is pitching to him an idea that will do just that...
Gabriel Stacy wakes up. He's sitting in a waiting room. He looks around, finding what appear to be Life magazine back issues. On closer inspection, they're actually Death magazine back issues. Jack O Lantern steps out of a doorway after a lengthy meeting with an unseen character. Gabriel gives a “What the Hell” on seeing him alive, and Mephisto responds with an “exactly”
The Slingers Arc 13: Goblincide
Concurrently with what's going on in Amazing Spider Man, the Slingers team will be investigating Alchemax, trying to figure out what's going on, and we’ll be dealing with the character drama over their missing members, as well as the introduction of some muscle working for Alchemex, and specifically Liz, the grandfather of Spiderman 2099 villain: Venture, a cyborg cowboy type character. We’ll end with Miles being contacted by his uncle.
Amazing Spider Man arc 19
The first part of this will be more MJ focused. It will be a one to two issue conclusion to a previous story that will have Elyse Nelson returning, and with the help of Francine Frye, the female Electro, continuing her attempts to kill MJ and her loved ones. Fortunately, many of her loved ones have superpowers, so things get a bit easier, until her cousin Kristy once again becomes a target. Also, Elyse Nelson has a weakness, as having a hatred of her own appearance is the reason she's chosen to become a new Chameleon. She disguises herself as other people for the purpose of trying to become someone else. Her and MJ were both models, bad Elyse fixated on her, growing increasingly help us and homicidal. She's take. To constantly wearing masks now, to the extent not even her partner in crime Francine has seen her face. She dresses either as the next person she's impersonating, or Francine in events they have to meet in person for. Elyse will make an attempt to kill Kristy by disguising herself as MJ, which when MJ discovers this, will lead to another MJ versus MJ fight. I've already done this, but it's a great visual and we can build on the previous time by having Elyse’s mask get ripped up, creating the appearance of a warped evil twin. The attacks will come from the more intellectual sabotage and assassination attempts by Elyse, and the straight on brute strength attempts by Francine, who when Elyse got discovered and the two MJ fight thing happened, was Elyse’s getaway. Kristy will deal bad, as her being in harm's way prevented her cousin, who she idolizes, from beating the bad guys.
Eventually, Kristy, against the Parker's wishes, will set a trap for the two villains, allowing herself to be alone and unprotected. Fortunately, she has some acrobatic skills and uses them to evade the two criminals until the Parker family, already called, can arrive to stop them. So we see Kristy is reckless, yet resourceful, and has some heroic qualities. She could end up a superhero eventually if she honed her skills and was more careful.
The next part of this arc will be a story involving Spiderman villain Clash. He's fallen in with the Shocker, who despite his being regarded as a bit of a joke by the supervillain community, is regarded with admiration by Clash, who wants to work with him to become a powerful force in the criminal community due to his track record fighting Spiderman. He's fought him so much he's learned a lot of tricks, and if you look at his history, he actually does well and beats Spiderman a fair amount. So we get a mentor/mentee relationship as him and shocker rob bank vaults and Shocker teaches him that Spider heroes travel in packs now so if you want to win, you need to start working in teams too. That's why there have been so many villain team ups these past few years. It makes it harder on the hero. They end up botching the robbery though, and Clash gets grazed by a bullet, and also witnesses one of Shockers outbursts at the guard who was shooting at them. Shocker explains it as having to try and be scary so they don't consider you a joke villain. He references how a lot of villains, like the squid end up in that trap. The Parker family will go after the bank robbing duo. We will learn Peter doesn't see Clayton Cole as a bad person, just someone who, through actually a lot of fault of his own, has ended up angry at Peter and Parker industries.
After a failed first try, Clash will start using some of his intelligence and skills and Shocker will begin to realize his pupil is becoming more powerful than him, and the two of them make a great team. They're working with each other and making a lot of money.
But, having seen the greed of shocker, and after his mask is ripped off in a robbery and his face is put up on wanted posters, Clash, aka Clayton Cole, will begin to see the downside of villainy. Shocker begins to get too big for his britches and plan a heist on Parker Industries, which he shows to Cole, hoping he’ll like it due to the history Clayton has with Peter Parker. With Spiderman closing in fast, he turns against Shocker, and after a fight, manages to overpower him with his sonic tech. He presents Shocker to Spiderman, returns the money, and destroys his clash suit. He gets off with public service due to turning against Shocker, After a meeting with Peter, he explains he wants to turn his life around, he understands what he was doing was wrong, he doesn't want to go back to prison, and Peter gives him a job at Parker Industries, like he used to have.
We will also see Peter is still broken up over recent events with Liz Allen.
We will end this arc with the return of Zodiac and Scorpion, as Scorpia, aka Elaine Cole. While Scorpion has become an international crime lord running a terrorist organization bent on world domination, and Carmilla Black, aka Black Scorpion is his go to second in command, Elaine Cole has been largely ignored. She's jealous of Scorpion, and has come to him to demand a seat at the table. Scorpion laughs her out of the place, telling her she has to earn it, she can't just dress as a scorpion and expect to be his sidekick. So, she decides to prove it be waging war against Zodiac. Innocents are caught in the crossfire and Spiderman and his family get involved. We see how she doesn't care at all about who gets hurt, she only cares about proving to Scorpion she's better than him. She ends up being beaten, and Peter has a tense meet with Scorpion, who thanks him for dealing with the problem, where he can't at the time beat Scorpion due to the amount of weapons he has aimed at him at the time. Scorpion lets Peter go, as he now considers himself untouchable. It will then be revealed the rest of Zodiac, who are plotting Scorpions downfall, are working with Alistair Smythe
The Slingers Arc 14: The Menace of Menace!
Miles Morales
Silk
Sarah Stacy
Kaine
Ben Reilly
Black Cat
Lilly Hollister/Queen Cat
Miles Morales will be contacted by his Uncle, who last we saw had become the newest host of Carnage. Fortunately, he's been able to inert some control over it due to his willpower and rational mind set and avoid being given crazy. He's been using it for only short periods on heists, and the rest of the time uses sonic devices to lock it up for safe keeping. With it, he's been able to do jobs originally too dangerous for him, and has made a lot of money stealing items and selling them on the black market. The reason he's called Miles is that Dr. Karl Malus, mad scientist and former Carnage host is seeking to continue his experiments on the symbiote and begin experimenting on its newest host. Through a complicated series of events you can find on Wikipedia, he is now a human/ Symbiote hybrid, like a zonkey.
Meanwhile, while they are still in New York working with Parker Industries to get Silver and Black International back up and running, Lilly has decided to confess her secret to Felicia. She's not who she claims to be. She explains. She was Lilly Hollister, until she was in an accident that gave her amnesia. After that, she became the superhero Queen Cat, having encountered the inverted Roderick Kingsley from axis and not knowing what else to do with her life. Later, she learned who she had been before through police files and newspaper clippings. But, she still doesn't have the memories of her former self, and she's afraid if she gets them back, she’ll become Menace again. Felecia decides she trusts new Lilly, doubts old Lilly will come back any time soon, and thinks she could probably beat Menace in a fight.
Silk will be leading the Slingers while Miles is gone, and we’ll showcase her leadership style compared to Miles being a bit more casual, and will end up on the trail of Malus, as he's a wanted man and has been sighted in New York. Meanwhile, Uncle Aaron is happy to be working with his nephew, and is mentioning in conversation how great a team the two of them make, and how if Miles would ditch his team of Super Friends, they could do good work together, and if Miles is uncomfortable with the thieving, maybe they could start off going after Mob bosses money or something. They could fight some bad guys and make a lot of money. Miles is not swayed however, and he forces his uncle to get back to work helping him set a trap for Malus. We will see that Aaron prefers Symbiote guns to Kletus Cassidy’s Symbiote axes and knives. In the end, Malus will be defeated and we’ll learn in a twist Malus was never looking for Aaron, Aaron was trying to find him so he could steal a machine he's build that can make the Symbiote more compliant. He's now more dangerous than ever, with complete control over the Symbiote, and leaves his nephew as the Slingers arrive. The Slingers will arrive, Miles will go after his Uncle with them, and they’ll be a fight where Uncle Aaron doesn't want to beat his nephews friends into unconsciousness, but does so anyway, because he's still not a very nice person, and he thinks having beat the Slingers will help him build a bigger name for himself. Miles goes one on one with his Uncle, who isn't above fighting Miles, but goes easy on him because he doesn't really want to hurt him, but Miles purposely damages the device, causing the Symbiote to try to kill him, and Aaron to have to get it off to avoid his nephew from being killed. Aaron is captured, but during the battle Lilly hit her head. They return to base after Uncle Aaron is brought to the authorities with a locked up Symbiote, and Lily steals all of their information then heads to Alchemex to steal some last bits of goblin gear and serums set to be destroyed, and once again becomes MENACE! Black Cat tries to stop her and learns, never mind, she can't beat Menace in a fight.
With Menace having both the mind of a hero and villain, she knows the Slingers plans before they can accomplish them, and with the information stolen, all of their identities. So she has to be stopped before she can go after friends and family. Doc Ock arrives, offering to help with that secret plan he's been putting together. If they want to beat a former hero, they need former villains.
So, he's been finding repentant villains and using Parker Industries to give them a second chance, like Peter did him.
The team is currently
Doc Ock(wants to help other former villains like himself)
Harry Osborn(who is now able to care for his children)
Sandman(here to try and set a better example for his adopted daughter and because Doc Ock is an old friend)
Clash( he's become a hero now working alongside Parker Industries)
and Ana Kravinoff, (Miles Morales’s former arch enemy who appears to have joined for the sole purpose of to stick it to her father… and mother….but not her Uncle , she liked him)
Miles is hesitant, but as he trusts everyone on the team except Ana, goes for it.
The two teams unite and go after Menace. We’ll see Miles can't trust Ana because of the time she went after his family. Ana still hates Miles for destroying her savage land hunting lodge and in a separate event causing the death of her mother, who was a mean, cruel person, but still family. We’ll see she also hates Doc Ock for killing her Uncle, making her the wildcard of the team, conversely rebellious of her parents old ways yet still ending up hating the same people. Menace will be defeated, Miles and Ana will make a good, but reluctant team that still hates each other when it's all over.
We will see Clash and Sandman are the most actively heroic and superheroey on the team, with Harry more of a brooding type who wants to do good after all the bad he's done in the world.
Menace will once again hit her head as a result of black Cat thinking it will give her amnesia again(it doesn't work, she just gets a concussion) but Felecia is able to talk her down and cause her to snap out of it, merging her two personalities and making her a hero again. Felecia will, after everything that happened, still want to work with her, as she trusts her… and they're friends. Lilly believes that, as she can remember everything her former self did now after all the head trauma, something like this will be unlikely to happen again.
Amazing Spiderman Arc 20: Book of Blood
We begin with the Spiderman family stopping a briefly escaped Cletus Cassidy from killing a mysterious African American man. Fortunately he's easy to beat without his powers. After Cassidy is taken away, the man reveals his true self, the Spider God Kwaku Anansi. He explains he's been being hunted by Inheritors for years and has been using his powers as a trickster God to hide in various worlds. He is currently an archeology student Carl K Nancy. He's actually been leading the Inheritors through various worlds on wild goose chases, which resulted in them killing other versions of Spiderman. While this wasn't his intent and a mistake, his irresponsibility caused him to be ousted from the larger group of multiversal Spidermen. It's mentioned that some of these worlds were near duplicates for other worlds. This hints some people we thought were dead could be alive in the multiverse. Peter explains the situation with the Inheritors and how he can stop running, but Anansi tells him that there are actually three active Inheritors left roaming the multiverse. These Inheritors will end up making it to our earth, and be revealed as Mortia, Thanis, and Malos of the novel Spiderman: The darkest hours. Peter will explain to his family the Inheritor protocol. You can't beat them alone, so run and find as many other allies as possible. Kwaku helps them fight off the predators long enough to send all of them to the MC2 universe. We will see that these Inheritors are weakened and believe they are the last of their race. They need help, and decide to grab Cassidy, and offer to show him the secrets of an Inheritor time, the book of blood, written in Inheritor Blood, which transforms him into literal Carnage. He becomes a living Blood monster. They travel to MC2, where we learn what's been going on. You see, the world we saw from Spider Verse wasn't the MC2, it was another nearly identical world. That worlds May Parker grew confused and angry when her family was killed by Daemos(a dead ringer for Malos) and ended up becoming a new version of Mayhem with the Carnage symbiote(red and black instead of blue and black) Kwaku actually sent her, baby Ben, and Spider Uncle Ben to MC2 on the way back as a way to try and stone for what he had done, but instead it caused the mayhem stuff to happen. She was lost and confused, but was eventually calmed down by that worlds Peter Parker, just having returned after what went on in the early arcs of my Spiderman. She eventually was adopted by the MC2 Parker family, who also took in little Ben and elderly alternate Uncle Ben, having nothing to go back to on her world, and she became the heroic Redback.
The Parker family of 616 will meet them, and prepare for the coming of the last inheritors. I want to show the various May Parker's meet. We’ll see young, mostly innocent May, an older idealized May, and a darker May that still tries to be heroic. Redback, going under the assumed name April in this world, will struggle to control the Carnage Symbiote and her urges to kill evil doers, and will progress in this and do better with the help of the other May’s. They have a sister like bond. Some conflict will come when the Inheritors do arrive and Malos resembles the Inheritor that killed April’s family, being a twin brother. We’ll get some anticipation and seemingly impossible odds. The other heroes of this world will unite to help, like DarkDevil, this worlds Felicity Hardy, daughter of Felecia Hardy as the hero Red Web, Gerry Drew, son of Spider-Woman, The Buzz, and May’s Uncle Kaine.
We get to see that JJ Jameson in this universe is actually a supporter of Spiderman… But runs a media campaign against The Buzz, who he doesn't know is his grandson.
Uncle Kaine will sacrifice himself saving Spiderben from Carnage. Things will go wrong, April will be unable to control herself around Malos and the trauma she experiences looking at him, Spider-Ben will be wounded but survive, and the Inheritors will capture Anansi, plotting to use him to bring them to Karn, their traitorous brother who is now the Master Weaver! They want to return the Inheritors to their former glory by striking at the heart of the great web. April is really shook up about losing control.
All of the heroes mentioned before follow them to earth 001, where the final battle takes place. Cletus Cassidy will rebel against the Inheritors, deciding he's not going to take orders from a bunch of fancy Steampunk vampires(his phrasing) and refuses to share the credit for destroying the web of life. He ends up killing them, and begins to overtake the web of life in an attempt to turn all of reality into blood and carnage. He thinks it would be beautiful to see. The heroes arrive, team up with Karn, and stop Cletus. Redback learns to control the Symbiote after seeing how bad another earth's host got, and for another reason. Spider-Ben succumbs to his injuries, but not before telling all has assorted alternate universe family members, including our Peter, how proud he is of all of them. He tells April it's okay to make mistakes, as long you do your best to make up for them later. Peter also overhears this, and gets a bit of closure regarding recent, as well as not so recent events in his life. Uncle Ben tells them all he's glad to have gotten a chance to meet them, and he's okay dieing now. He's lived a great life, and met great people. The two families mourn the man. May Parker of MC2 graduates from Spidergirl to Spider Woman in the eyes of her superhero community due to her bravery that day.
In secret, Anansi causes Cletus Kasady to melt into a pile of blood in retaliation for the deaths witnessed that day, then leaves, stopping by Peter to warn him that bad things are going on on earth 666 right now.
Our heroes all return home, May says goodbye to May and April, we get a little more of a very big sisters little sister sort of relationship that's a lot of fun, and Peter and MJ say bye to Peter and MJ, promising to visit again sometime, hopefully on better circumstances. Everyone returns home having learned a lot from this experience and even made some new friends.
Next time: All Good Things Must Come to An End
plus a Spiderman/Iron Man crossover!
