Academy Award-nominated actor Paul Giamatti spoke with the Toronto Sun recently about his role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Aleksei Sytsevich aka the Rhino, who Giamatti says is "One of several bad guys in the movie." He continued, "In the comic books of old, he had this suit on that made him look like a rhinoceros, and it made him super strong," says the actor, laughing a little in disbelief at what he describes. If there was a bank vault he would just run right through it. Butt through it with his head. And he was not very smart." As several set photos have indicated, Rhino has been modernized for the Marc Webb-directed 2014 sequel.

"And I have a particular kind of suit, but I don't think I'm supposed to talk about it," Paul Giamatti says. "He's a Russian mobster. Russians are always good villains. I have an ability to just destroy things. My accent is pretty hammy. I loved doing it. it seemed to me like an opportunity to be as over-the-top hammy as possible. It was really fun." What do you think?

In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The sequel is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.
