Sally Field Hasn't Seen Any Of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Films

Some fans might not prefer her portrayal of Aunt May over Rosemary Harris's version, and she doesn't have anywhere near as big of a role as Harris's, but Sally Field is still a great addition to the cast of Marc Webb's Spider-Man franchise. When Field was on the Late Show with David Letterman the other night, the actress admitted to not seeing a single Spider-Man film. Watch the humorous video, where she was also surprised at the movie's Box Office success, below...

"In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014."

Starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro, Sally Fields as Aunt May, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, and Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is already out in the international countries and will soon hit US theaters on May 2nd, 2014.

"Her portrayal of Aunt May might not be as well received by fans as Rosemary Harris's version"

Really? I think she's much better as May. After Garfield and Stone, I named hers as the best performance in the movie, even if her role wasn't monumental:

Each to their own opinion though.

The first 2 Raimi films are the only ones she needs to see.

@Nomis

Agreed. Aunt May in the new franchise is just there. In Raimi's trilogy she was a guiding light and Peter's voice of reason. She was just perfect!

I still like Rosemary more, though.

I'm going to have to check this movie out again, I probably judged it a little too harshly.
@mexicansuperman I picked up on that too, especially at the end.

There's no profound speeches by Aunt May in TASM, pretty much a side character who's their for the sake of it.

Aunt May is a cameo in these new films. Sally Field is good, but I wish there was more of her.
