SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Producer Suggests Spidey's Future In the MCU Could Be Uncertain Following The Sequel
While being interviewed at CinemaCon last night, Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal spoke about the partnership between Marvel & Sony, and some of her comments were very interesting.
Nobody ever thought we'd see two massive movie studios team-up and share the rights to an iconic comic book character like Spider-Man, but that's exactly what happened for Captain America: Civil War, and now Tom Holland's new Webhead is set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War and star in his very own solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Up until now it's generally been assumed that this partnership would continue for a long time past these initial films, but during an interview at CinemaCon last night, producer Amy Pascal implied that the studios could part ways following the first Homecoming sequel:
Now, while some outlets have twisted Pascal's words for the sake of a headline ("Spider-Man out of The MCU after Homecoming sequel!"), there's no denying that she did at least seem to suggest that nothing was set in stone, and that there is a possibility the situation will be reevaluated following the inevitable Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.
To be fair, that was probably always going to happen once Holland appeared in 3 films, anyway, and it's difficult to imagine these studios severing ties if their next collborations are as successful as they're expected to be.
What do you guys make of Pascal's remarks? Sound off below.
