Spider-Man & New York's Mayor Bloomberg Take on Unemployment

Workforce1 is a city run program designed to help find employment for those who are seeking work. To herald the program, the Daily News printed a 12-page Spider-Man comic that dealt with Peter Parker's own employment challenges.

"The Daily News is a newspaper that understands it's part of this city, and it's always trying to make this city better as well as report what goes on," the mayor said.

I love that Peter finally has a decent job in the comic books now. Flash Thompson's comment in the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man about Peter having the potential to be "the next Bill Gates" really made me realise what a loser he's been these past couple of years. His career as a teacher during JMS' run was the best though IMO. :)

i agree. he has to do something with his life. enough with the unemployed-i-don't-have-money-to-buy-webfluid-thing...he is one of the smartest marvel characters and he is wasted on things like these...he has to grow up. i don't get it. if no one remembers who he is, why not get his job back as a teacher?

Peter Parker USED to be an adult. He USED to have a great job. His maturity level USED to be on par with that of Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. But then that [frick]ing abomination, a.k.a One More Day, came along and completely robbed him of that. Now Peter Parker is literally like a child in an adult's body. [frick] you Joe Queseda. [frick] you buddy. Decades of character development have gone completely out the window. God I can't STAND the Spider-Man comics now!

BLOOMBERG = HITLER.

I live in NYC and this prick's nothing but lies and self-righteousness. Employment there is worse than before. Plus, Scarlett Johansson's friends with this guy.

I really did not like the revamp of spiderman, Marvel calls themselves house of ideas and they surely ran out of them. They had to bring him back to teenage status so that they could boost sales even if they already had Ultimate, Marvel age and that other Spiderman series bringing him back to teenage status?
Come on!! Look at Batman and the many Robins he has trained, I like DC for that, I just hope they don make Lois take a deal with the devil and make her stupid again. Oh my bad thet is just Marvel's ideas.
