We have heard numerous horror stories about this production, delays, shut downs, financial problems. But now everything seems to be back on track..whether thats a good or bad thing I'll leave up to you guys to debate!

According to the LA Times Hero Complex..

The production, directed by Julie Taymor and featuring music by Bono and the Edge, will begin preview performances at the newly renamed Foxwoods Theatre (formerly the Hilton Theatre) on Nov. 14 and will open on Dec. 21.

"Spider-Man" was originally supposed to open in February, but the escalating cost of the musical -- which is said to be the most expensive ever on Broadway -- caused the production to be pushed back.

Tickets for "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" are set to go on sale to the general public in September, but no specific date was given.

Tony nominee Jennifer Damiano will play the role of Mary Jane Watson, taking over from Evan Rachel Wood, and Patrick Page will take over from Alan Cumming as Green Goblin. Reeve Carney is still on board to play Peter Parker.

The cast is scheduled to begin full rehearsals on Aug. 16.

Here's my revisit of X2. It was shit. :D

I'd probably check out this musical if it ever came to the UK or if I'm lucky enough to visit NY. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out actually.

FYI: I'm a HUGE U2 fan, and so that's a big thing that turns me on to this play.

@Mileena16

But there were already goofy musical numbers in Spider-Man 3!

I don't see this ending well. I honestly don't see the target audience for Spider-Man's films and television shows (kids and teens) shelling out money for Broadway tickets.

Im hoping to go and see this in NY but i doubt it il get to go as im saving for my wedding :(
Im abit gutted they have got a different cast as Evan rachel wood is actually pretty good (Pretty persuasion anyone) and Alan Cumming would have been great stage green goblin....my biggest problem tho is that turd of a musician "Bono"...i cant stand U2 they make me want to self harm, if they do another [foo foo]y song like elevation from tombraider il lose the plot!!haha

@Ramone: Please don't bash Bono. He's a brilliant and honorable man. More than any of us could ever even hope to be.
