Okay guys, so my last Amazing Spider-Man article said that they were filming in Rochester, while that is still true, it looks like Peter Parker will be in college, filming updates from Marc Webb and a few trusted sources over at Twitter, have said that the new film will be filming at SUNY Maritime College on April 16 - April 21. As said earlier The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be filming in Times Square, the date of that shoot has been revealed and it will be shot on April 15th. So if you're in New York City today, swing by Times Square and maybe just maybe you'll be able to catch everyone's favourite Wall-Crawler!

For Peter Parker, life is busy. Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation cannot come quickly enough. Peter has not forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away, but that is a promise he cannot keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

I hope so. I'm tired of seeing a Spider-Man in high school.

Yeah, that was the utmost biggest reason I hated TASM. "Sometimes those are the best kinds" line pissed me off to all hell. Even worse is when she smiled. Your dad just died Blondie, show some agony. I would've been pissed if he said that to me. If you love someone, let them go. If your destiny is to be a savior to mankind, you learn to isolate yourself to become a hero. Then again, he was never given the "With great responsibility" talk, just a horribly written dialogue speech that obviously tried to not be that speech, which just ended up being confusing and sounding stupid as hell. That and Marc Webb's fetish for sending tweets about every [frick]ing irrelevant thing on set of the next film is why I do not care about TASM 2.

@SpidaTrav- I don't care if he's a teenager. Doesn't excuse the fact that he is putting a loved one's life at risk because he doesn't want to grow up and face reality.

Raimi's Spider-Man got this right. Peter sacrifices his own happiness to protect those he cares about and he is isolated and made to suffer alone. That is how you write tragedy.

Besides, it doesn't make him a smart or mature person if it takes several loved ones dying violently to learn a lesson. It makes him look like an idiot.

"It is hard to stay away from the person you love."

Boo-hoo. There are more pressing matters at hand. Like keeping her safe from enemies.

Than why did Peter decide to marry MJ even after what happened to Gwen?
Making MJ his WIFE would make her an even BIGGER target.
Big difference between Raimi's movies and the comics, Gwen knows Peter is Spider-Man so she knows why he would stay away from her, but she's fone with staying with him even though she knows he's Spidey, same as why Peter decided to be with MJ in the comics, MJ knew what she was getting into.

please, don't be fooled about this Peter/MJ relationship.
This is not how you write a tragedy.
You don't sacrifice yourself one day, and change your mind on the other. Peter romance with MJ was BADLY WRITTEN. AWFULLY.

I love you/But i can't be with you/ But i love you even more now/Oh no, i'm dragging you down/OK, OK ... I wanna marry you/
Who's that hot blond chick ?/ Give me one more chance, ok ?/
So you with Harry now ? Bitch

Just because they're filming a scene at a college doesn't mean he's IN college. Jebus.

@TheGambitFreak those complaints are filled with all kinds of stupid. Jollem's pretty much explained why, so I'll just add this:
Gwen Stacy had just lost her father (because he died), and she lost her boyfriend (because they broke up). Of course she's going to be happy if she gets one of those things back.

This version of Peter Parker isn't a douche by any definition. He's a good kid, but he's also flawed and human, and sometimes people make mistakes or do the wrong thing. And that's something Marvel has always done best - giving their heroes more human qualities, and vulnerabilities, and the capacity to make mistakes and learn from them. This version of Peter Parker is incredibly faithful to that notion.

Is it disrespectful that he went against his promise to a dead man? Yeah, it kind of is. But it was a lose/lose situation to begin with. So, rather than keeping his promise to a dead man and breaking his girlfriend's heart, he tried to stay away, but then relented. Either way, Gwen would be in danger, considering Spider-Man's enemies in this series seem to all know him anyway. By keeping her close, he's more able to protect her. Staying away at this point would make very little difference.

And if you really want a comparison, Raimi's movies do something very similar. Peter avoids MJ 'to protect her', then realizes 'Oh wait a minute, all the bad guys keep attacking her anyway, so maybe if I'm closer to her, it'll be easier to protect her!'

You know, you guys talk so much crap about this film, without really knowing what you're talking about in the first place.

"If you love someone, let them go. If your destiny is to be a savior to mankind, you learn to isolate yourself to become a hero."
Yeah, that's why Spider-Man dates Mary Jane in most of the comics (at least, back when they were good) and even married her. Because he learned to isolate himself to become a hero. Bullshit. He learns, in every version of the story, that keeping his distance doesn't make a jack-shit of difference. It just so happens he learns it earlier in this movie series. I guess he's actually a smarter version of Peter then! Of course, you guys will all bitch and moan anyway, because you need everything to be dumbed down and simple rather than having any sort of weight or depth. It needs to be something pretty which you can stare at without thinking, filled with explosions and special effects, rather than anything that requires even the slightest amount of brain activity. Either that, or 'if it's not made by Marvel Studios and linked to The Avengers, then it's bad!' - well here's a newflash for you guys (and, just so this isn't misconstrued, I actually love most of the Avengers movies) Iron Man 2 was shit! The Incredible Hulk was forgettable! And The Avengers (even though I really liked it) ISN'T God's gift to cinema like you think it is. It's a pretty good movie, not a masterpiece. If you want quality storytelling, dare I say it, TASM is better in that category. Sure, it has some dumb, cliche moments (Lizard's whole plan being left on his computer being a key example), but it's got the better story.

Here's how it seems you'd prefer these films to go:
- Peter stays away from Gwen
- Gwen gets killed
- Peter's like 'Ah well, I tried!'
Because, face it, if Gwen didn't die in this series, you'd complain about that too, because it'd be too different from the comics. You guys will just complain about anything, no matter how good a film may be in its own right.
