The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field; the film hits Blu-Ray and DVD November 9th!

the back cover just feels lazy, i would think they would use cool shots from the film, not boring pictures theyve already released online, honestly it looks fake to me

I liked this movie but I don't think I liked it enough to even get it on regular Blu-Ray. I'll probably just get 1 disc.

Yeah I like the mask case, its great to display. I have the Transformers movies case that transforms into a Bumblebee statue, I will put the Spiderman mask next to it!

I hope that concept art we saw last week of Batmans broken mask will be a case as well!

The quote on the back is sadly accurate. The Amazing Spider-Man had some pretty big flaws, but I still enjoyed it more than Sam Raimi's movies. Peter felt truer to me - all the main characters in fact - and there were thankfully fewer groan-inducing moments of Raimi cheese. The sequel has the potential to be a perfect Spider-Man movie, fingers crossed.

Does the regular Blu-Ray edition without the 3D disc still include all of the special features sans 3D 101 w/Marc Webb? Because I'm going to get pissed if I have to pay almost 40 dollars for an extra disc that I'm not ever going to use nor do I give a [frick] about. 3D is an experience that belongs in a theater, not your living room. Someone please help.

i hope they show a 1.1 version of this movie in theaters before they release the DVD version...it will certainly boost up its box office numbers same as what they are doing now with the re release of the avengers...

Thank you for your review NerdyGeek! From what I understand, the Marc Webb directed film is not only out in brilliant Blu-ray, but has some major differences from the previously released Spider-man directed by Sam Raimi. The biggest difference for me is I always felt Tobey Maguire lacked the passion as Peter Parker and smart alecky attitude of Spider-man. I have seen Andrew Garfield in a couple films, but nothing took my breath away more than his performance in Never Let Me Go. My friend and coworker from DISH also admires the talents of Andrew Garfield, especially in The Social Network. She’s having a girl’s night tomorrow to see The Amazing Spider-man, but I’m out of town helping my Mom who has some health problems. I have my laptop with me for work, so I can easily access DISH Online and rent The Amazing Spider-man, since my Mom has a Hopper from Dish then I’ll still enjoy the movie with the gals, even though I’m away from home.
