The Amazing Spider-Man Reshoots Further Showcase Rhys Ifans' Transformation!

After a new batch of set photos were revealed last night, yet another image of Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors has surfaced and it shows his regenerated hand looking very gruesome indeed...

In the photos posted last night (you can find them HERE) we caught a glimpse of Rhys Ifans wearing some sort of strange glove on his hand. While many assumed this was perhaps a prosthetic of some sort for the character, a closer image from the reshoots currently taking place courtesy of Mail Online reveals that it is fact a part of his transformation into the Lizard. Just like in the comic books, Connors clearly succeeds in regrowing his missing limb, but this seemingly starts to go wrong as we can see below.



Whether this is his hand regrowing after the experiment or the beginning of him turning into the Lizard isn't clear at this point. However, with Andrew Garfield also spotted on set in a makeshift costume (with web shooters) it seems that their stories will run parallel throughout The Amazing Spider-Man. Cool picture, can't wait for the movie. Like how Mark Webb is going for creepy, not emo. But, if the hand looks like that, then what the HELL is the Lizard gonna look like!

@Friendly, I like your idea, but I think their making the Lizard absent in the trailers, like in Super 8. It made us want to see the movie even more. I would like to see Spidey quips before the movie though.

It's probably the him transforming slowly from the experiment. This is just a good step to do in CBM films,Instead of just going straight into full-time villain is just not thrilling.

probably it is the hand regrowing, and my wild guess is that they will focus the shoot on his hand for a more detailed view with that prosthetic and then they edited it on post production.

Man...yucks, lol. It won't give me any pleasure, but it apparently will do the story good. And as for now, I can't wait to see any image of the Lizard even more - this makes it. :)

Honestly, I can see this movie becoming really, really good. If it falls short then it's not because of the actors. If you have any doubts then you should go check out Anonymous. Rhys puts on an absolutely amazing performance there.

I like how his transformation is going to be a steady process instead of something that happens magically overnight. Very pleased I am with how this is unfolding. Can't wait to see a trailer featuring the Lizard.

I have no idea why people are calling this movie worthless and stuff. Its frickin' Spider-Man. Not played by a sissy or cry-baby like Toby Maguire. Hey, at least its not Robert [frick]ing Pattenson or what ever as Spider-Man, so I'd be happy.

the only bad guy i want to see is Venom and Carnage hopefully that can happen through out the 5 - 6 films they plan on making!

I can't wait to see a new trailer. I think the Spider-Man POV thing will be awesome when he's fighting the Lizard.

@GUNSMITH Cool pictures.

@thewolfx He just tested the cure and his arm had just grown back. After it's fully regenerated, it will look like a regular hand. You can tell because his circulatory system is still growing and he has no finger nails yet.

I think he's done the cure and is out and about when it starts to turn bad...maybe this is the first transformation scene. Also in the trailer we see cars being flipped on the bridge, any thoughts
