THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Gets An Honest Trailer & An Everything Wrong With Video
To critique The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the folks over at Screen Junkies & CinemaSins decided to collaborate and swap duties in making the next installments in their respective Honest Trailer and "Everything Wrong With" YouTube video series. Come check it out!
With the uncertain status of The Amazing Spider-Man 3, it looks like Screen Junkies & CinemaSins decided to tackle Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a little earlier than they normally would. While it grossed $708 million at the box office and is currently the 5th highest grossing film of the year, it was considered a disappointment when compared to past Spider-Man films and was also less than favorably received by fans and critics alike.
The film's performance has seemingly left Sony's entire Spider-Man franchise in flux. Their focus now looks to have shifted from Spider-Man over to a Sinister Six film, a female Spidey character (Black Cat?) film, and a Venom/Carnage film. As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, it is certainly a disappointment to say the least.
You can enjoy both the Honest Trailer, done by CinemaSins, and the Everything Wrong With video, done by Screen Junkies, below!
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
