Marvel hosted its annual Spider-Man panel at New York Comic Con this weekend and part of the exciting event included a new trailer for Spider-Geddon. The highly anticipated comic event kicks off this week with the release of Spider-Geddon #1, which goes on sale Wednesday, October 10.

Celebrating the event, we have a brand new launch trailer where you can hear from writer Christos Gage, Executive Editor Nick Lowe, and Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, as they discuss what makes Spider-Geddon both exciting and different.

Explaining the two main differences between Spider-Geddon and Spider-Verse, Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski detailed:

"In Spider-Verse, all the Spider characters - every single Spider-Man ever - left to go fight the infiltrators in different universes. This time everything is coming home. Earth is the battleground. Marvel is the world outside your window, and every Spider-Man character and Spider-Man villain has come to play.”

Writer Christos Gage also added that he's excited to bring the Spider-Man variation from Insomniac Games' recently released PlayStation 4-exclusive title Marvel's Spider-Man into Spider-Geddon, which he revealed will take place after the events of the video game.

Leaving us with a little teaser, Gage was revealed that while Spider-Geddon will feature plenty of different Spider-Man variations, "...there's one in particular who I didn't get to write last time around who I'm very excited to this time."

REVENGE OF THE SPIDER-VERSE! Featuring new villains and old villains, shocking deaths and shocking returns, and all the Spider characters you can fit into one larger-than-life tale, this is a Marvel Spider-Event not to be missed!

Spider-Geddon #1 will be available Wednesday, October 10.

I don't know

is Marvel trying to milk spidey too much

or

they're trying to ruin it with too many crossovers, characters and 'original' stories and titles ??

when is it too much ??

so far the only good thing (for me) is the departure of dan sloth form spidey,
next is john quezadilla....

So totally embarrassing.
So Marvel is now the pervayer of Junk.
Instead of one really, really great SM book ( a la Stan Lee era), we have this junk.
Well, they do have Spider-Pig so I guess the bottom of the barrel isn't far off.

That comic is Awful with a capital A. I actually don't mind the spiderpowered Uncle Ben, but they're all written so poorly, you can barely tell what's happening. I just don't understand why this is a thing. The original Spiderverse crossover was universally hated and mocked by readers.

I'm getting pretty sick of there being like 10 plus Spider-people running around at the same time. Ever since Silk we've had nothing but the introduction of Spider person after spider person.

It kind of makes Peter seem not very special when there are a dozen other characters running around that can do the same thing he does. Especially when you take into account a big part of his character is him hating being Spiderman.

Even discounting the one's that will go back to there own universe there are still going to be like 6 plus spider-people running around.

Didn't I hear somewhere that Marvel comics was supposed to be having some sort of event that would get rid of all the excess clutter and stupid extra characters, timelines, origins, etc? What ever happened with that?
