SUICIDE SQUAD Breakout Star Jay Hernandez Says "The Critics Can Kiss My Ass"

We've already heard from a handful of Suicide Squad cast members about the critical response to the movie, but even more of them have now weighed in on some of the complaints levelled at the David Ayer helmed release. Surprisingly, the actor who appears to have taken the reviews most personally is the one who has been highlighted in the vast majority of them as the highlight and breakout star!

"Yeah I am bothered about it, I think it sucks, obviously we worked hard and tried to give the fans what they wanted," Jay Hernandez - a.k.a. Diablo - tells Digital Spy. "It's weird that some of the criticism I heard was that it was 'too much like a comic book', in terms of you have these characters being objectified like Harley Quinn, there are just certain elements that are just part of being a comic book. If you're trying to portray that on a film, you have to stay true to that, because if you don't, the fans of the comics are going to be offended." He then went on to say that the critics can kiss his ass.

Slightly more diplomatic were Joel Kinnaman and Karen Fukuhara as they both emphasised the fact that Suicide Squad was made with the fans in mind. Whether or not they'll appreciate the movie remains to be seen because Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was one of the most divisive comic book movies ever released.

My favorite thing about this is how they're all giving out the exact same excuse: That they made it 'for the fans'.

@comiccow6 -What did you want them to say?
"The critics are right. The movie is pure garbage".

I agree with him, screw the critics

Ive seen the movie twice and think it's a lot of fun.

BUT other than the star power, I can't see how they managed to spend so much on the budget.... but there were major reshoots, so who knows. But this movie could've been made as is for less than $100 mil

@Tevii - Dude the movie is fun i had a good time with it i'm going to see it again tomorrow.
I'm loving the movie even more with all the people that didn't even saw it are hating it soo much because of the RT critics and this is making me have some good laughs.

And about those reshots i heard that they cutted 1h+ of the Joker soo that explains the big budget, but i hope WB learns from this one, they made the same mistake with BvS and if they do it again it'll be stupid.

@JaredLetoJoker - Cutted... I'm sorry but I don't take anything seriously from someone who doesn't know how to use proper english.

@bauhau5 - using grammar and spelling to discredit someone's opinion for being different than yours doesn't make you seem intelligent, it just makes you seem like an ass.

@JaredLetoJoker - I think Johns will nip a lot of this crap in the Bud. The dude is a creative genius and will help put a lot. I have so much more faith in Wonder Woman now knowing he helped write it.
