Though he confirmed and debunked certain aspects the Suicide Squad rumors on social media last week, Joe Manganiello took to an interview with MTV News last weekend to address reports that he was up for the role of Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in David Ayer's DC Comics adaptation.

"I was offered a role, [but] it didn't work out," admitted the Magic Mike actor. "So, some of those rumors are true, but it wasn't for the role that people said. I don't know how all these rumors start and how it pops up all over the internet and catches steam, but it wasn't what people thought. So, I don't know who started that one. (hmm) I've worked with [director] David Ayer before, so I would have loved to work with him again, but it just wasn't the right situation."

Anyhow, Deathstroke is seemingly confirmed to be portrayed by Jim Parrack, another True Blood alum. And even with principal photography currently underway in Toronto, Canada, there is still no word on what role Joe Manganiello was initially offered in the 2016 movie. What do you think?

Directed by David Ayer from his script, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jared Leto (the Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang),
Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Jessie Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), with Raymond Olubawale (King Shark), Jay Hernandez, Ike Barinholtz, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, and Scott Eastwood. The film releases on August 5, 2016!
