PEACEMAKER Adds Chukwudi Iwuji, Annie Chang, Lochlyn Munro & More In Series Regular Roles

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad HBO Max spinoff, Peacemaker, has added four more to its cast in series regular roles - though we're not sure any of them are playing established DC Comics characters!

James Gunn's Peacemaker is scheduled to begin production early next year, and four more supporting players have now been added to the cast of The Suicide Squad spinoff.

Chukwudi Iwuji (When They See Us) is on board as as a series regular, while Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale), Annie Chang (Shades of Blue) and Christopher Heyerdahl (Togo) are set as recurring guest stars.

Character names have been revealed, but from what we can tell, none of these guys are established DC Comics heroes/villains.

Iwuji is playing Clemson Murn, Munro is playing Larry Fitzgibbon, Chang is joining as Detective Sophie Song, and Heyerdahl will play Captain Locke. We do have a vague description for Fitzgibbon, who is said to be "a wry and kind character who is Detective Song’s partner and friend."

They join previously announced cast members John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, and Chris Conrad.

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that the series is expected to explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Gunn is writing and directing the show, which was ordered to series back in September. Cena's titular antihero will make his debut in The Suicide Squad, which is set to debut simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max next August.

Gunn coming through again. Always a Fitzgibbon in his films.

@inkniron

Apparently, that’s the name of John Ostrander’s character in The Suicide Squad.

@regularmovieguy - There is also another Doctor Fitzgibbon in GotG. Apparently Larry Fitzgibbon is one of his best friends.

So excited for this. Cena is hilarious when given proper direction so I can only imagine he’s going to steal the show in SS which is why HBOMax greenlit this.
