In an excerpt from an interview with Men's Health December issue-on sale Thursday, November 3, actor Henry Cavill that there were times during his Superman training that he wanted to quit.
Cavill turned to trainer Mark Twight, the trainer for Gerald Butler in 300, to help transform his physique to Superman levels. Cavill stated,"When I first started working with Mark I thought, 'How the f*** am I going to do this?'."
Twight bombarded Cavill with numerous intense workouts, ranging from heavy weight lifting to intense cardiovascular fat-burning sessions, and there were moments when he wanted to "pack it all in".
Cavill stated, "When you're knackered and you're drained and you just don't want to go on any more, you're still doing it.
"Maybe we were built to stress and challenge ourselves physically, emotionally and psychologically, and all the rest of it. Maybe that's why we survived physically as a race - we evolved so it becomes fun."
Here's a somewhat startling image I put together, where you can see just how much Cavill has transformed his body from his early career, to Immortals, and then to Man of Steel. He's definitely come a long way. Kudos to him for not giving up.
