Deadline, new & well known details for Zack Snyder's
Man of Steel reboot have been revealed, regarding what Snyder & Warner Bros are looking for in the next 'Clark Kent'.
"Insiders tell us the studio is open to creating a star as it reboots the Superman franchise. The actor will likely either be a discovery, or an actor from TV who isn't yet a big star. And he'll be in the age range of 28-32.The studio expects to look at hundreds of young actors before making a decision."
The site makes further mention of actors whose receiving buzz —
True Blood's Joe Manganiello, 34, who reportedly has said he's being considered; Armie Hammer, 24;
The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder, 32; and of course
Mad Men's Jon Hamm, 39, who has since laughed off the speculation, but clearly is interested — but doesn't exactly say they're in the running.
"Agents who are readying candidates note that hiring an established series regular might not even be possible. The film will likely begin production around next June, and that shooting schedule could wreak havoc with fall prime time schedules. The studio has to meet that production start date because some of the rights are in jeopardy in 2013."
With a targeted winter 2012 release & evidently commencing production June next year, it seems we're in for another "Captain America" fiasco, where between now & then, several contenders will be noted. With that said, who do you think should be considered to portray the new 'Man of Steel'?
