Henry Cavill's Superman famously sported a beard for a short time in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel, something not often seen with the character. And he seems to be at it again! These pictures from yesterday show Cavill sporting a beard as he volunteered at a Crossfit competition at Motorcity Crossfit, Detroit.

Didn't they say Superman's hair was suppose to be shorter in Man of Steel 2, something akin to the Superman in Kingdom Come? I kinda like the way his hair looks in these photos, they should keep that and give him the the"S" curl.

I'm not sure if Henry Cavill is growing out a beard, because he is growing one in his off time, or if he is growing one for MOS2.

I remember that rumor about him being in exile, which I assume he entered after the end of MOS.

@mbembet If it wasn't for Superman, there would be no Metropolis. Yes, when he first attacked General Zod, which he more than deserved, he could've pulled his punches to avoid property destruction.

But towards end of the movie, it was more unavoidable. He was going up against a guy as strong as him who threatened to keep killing innocent people as long as he was alive.

Also, even though Clark has suited up as Superman, he is still learning the ropes of being a superhero. I know in the sequel, Batman will talk to him about the property destruction and killing General Zod. That would be a huge oversight by the writers, if they didn't address those issues in the sequel.

He's probably filming flashback scenes, doing stunt co-ordination and/or "Clark Kent Journalism" scenes while its still snowing in Michigan. WB is waiting for the weather to become warmer before filming the rest of the movie.

@mbembet Ha ha, fair enough. And if you don't mind me asking, why do you hate Superman so much? I'm not talking about your attitude towards the character on this article, because a lot of people were pissed off at what he did in MOS.

I'm only asking because in the past, I've seen you have strong opinions about Superman. Like do you think he is too cheesy or that he is too overpowered? As a Superman fan, I'm just curious is all.

If I was Cavill, I'd walk outside with a Braniac action figure just to watch everyone lose their shit and start speculating. I'd do it about once a week with different characters until the "rumor mill" imploded under its' own weight.

@mbembet That's true. But I just kind of got that impression lol. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth.

I'll admit, as much I really enjoyed MOS, I felt the writing for Superman was off. You can't really be surprised when David S. Goyer is the one who wrote the script. You know, it still bugs me that Superman killed Zod. I get the guilt over killing General Zod will lead to Superman developing a no killing rule, but still... Superman is supposed to be the kind of hero where when he is put in a situation with no right choice, he finds a way to make one against all odds. I mean, I felt like the real Superman would've found a way to stop General Zod without killing him.

The problem is, Zack Snyder and David Goyer want to do a rough around the edges Superman who eventually becomes the polished hero he is in the comics. I just think they could've done that without Superman killing in MOS. That's not getting off to a good start. And I don't care for Superman in the New 52 either.
