The Titans Save Krypton While Baby Superman Shakes His Butt In New TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES Clip

In this newly released clip from Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, our egocentric, wildly satirical superheroes save Krypton from destruction with a thumping EDM beat that gets baby Supes to shake his rump.

This Friday, the Titans will head to theaters in an attempt to get Hollywood to make a movie about them. Hopefully, the irony in that isn't lost on you. In any case, ahead of the animated film's upcoming release, we have a brand new clip that teases some of the zany humor we can expect from the team's first feature film extravaganza.

Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, the new clip sees  Robin (Scott Menville), Starfire (Hynden Walch), Raven (Tara Strong), Beast Boy (Greg Cipes), and Cyborg (Khary Payton) travel back in time in an attempt to prevent Superman from coming to Earth by saving his home planet Krypton. The reasoning behind this absurd plan is that if they can prevent superhero origin stories from happening, Hollywood would then be forced into making a movie about them instead since there would be no other superheroes left in the present. This sort of silliness is exactly what we can expect to see more of in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

As previously noted, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is filled with musical numbers like the one in the above clip. The track in this clip is called "Crystals" and was written by storyboard artist David Gemmill and M A E S T R O.  Directors Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michael offered a bit more context for the scene, which was one of the first they worked on for the movie.

“Initially, it was like a computer they were banging on to try to fix the planet. We were sitting with David Gemmill, who is the storyboard artist, and the scene wasn’t quite working yet, and we were sort of shooting ideas around. I think at the same time we were like, ‘It’s the crystals! Krypton and the crystals!’ From there, it was like, ‘Well, they gotta use those crystals to make a beat.’ It just seemed like so logical to us.”

Other full-length original songs in the film include "Go!," a hip-hop track that introduces The Titans, and "Upbeat Inspirational Song," which features Michael Bolton. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies lands in theaters July 27.
