@Crazy... actually Mighty Morphin Power Rangers would be perfect for Michael Bay... Think about it:
Sterotypes,
Giant Mechas,
Sex appeals,
Lame Comic relief that is funny for the target demographic,
Giant monsters,
references to popculture,
most of all SPONTANEOUS EXPLOSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and there are more

LMFAO...now watch the Bay loving folk come outta the woodwork claiming this isn't Bay's movie. Why look at that...their already here. We know that douche isn't making this movie, but it still reeks of him. Hey if you don't feel that way, fine, but don't get your panties in a bunch when we feel this movie looks and smells like a Bay film.

The main theme will be made by Linkin Park.

ALegendaryPanda - like in a lot of other movies, here the producer takes most decisions and just get a hired director who will follow his orders.
expendables 2 for example.

@LucasMend

Yeah that's true. But I think Bay is too busy with Transformers 4 right now to cause too much damage.

ALegendaryPanda - Yeah, but well he doesn't need to be there saying everything that the director has to do. He just get's who he wants to write the "script" with the choices he made y'know, and then the director just does the film with the producer choices. I bet is like this here. Bay planned the "skeleton" of the movie, and the director just works around it. lmao.

Okay, I'm wondering something here: why does everyone care so much? Just think of the title: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. How is that "sacred"? I grew up watching them myself, but, like Transformers, I recognize they are certainly not timeless classics that were in any way innovative, thought-provoking, or even well-produced. They were fun at the time when I was a kid with little cares in the world, but they in no way hold up for me today. So why do people latch onto these so much and just resist any little change to something that, let's face it, wasn't exactly classic, sacred or even plausible to begin with?

Now, I know the common answer to this question: "it was part of my childhood." Okay, so how is that going to change it? The past is the past and until someone learns to build a time machine within your life span, it'll never change. You only let it change if your mind allows it to be changed. Has it occurred to anyone that these are not made for those who grew up in the late 80s? Surely someone has considered this just might be aimed at a newer generation with different thought processes, values and imaginations than those who grew up in a pre-9/11 environment.

I mean, come on, they weren't exactly the brightest of franchises, especially in the late 80s/early 90s. Surrounded by such instant classics like Indiana Jones, Batman, and Star Wars, do these really constitute some well-respected director to re-interpret these as some super-smart study on what it means to be an amphibian-alien-ninja? If you ask me (and I'm predicting a TON of hate for this), Michael Bay is the perfect match for something as mindless, yet oddly charming and fun as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Let the hate flow forth...

Brady1138, is not just about the 80's cartoons, Transformers had good stuff on marvel comics, even though I'm not a fan.
But TMNT, it started on comics, it was dark, awesome and underground. the first movie is really nice, and the 2003 tmnt animated series is awesome and a classic.

@LucasMend Point taken, but I get the impression that most of the people hating on Bay and lamenting the older stuff are mostly referencing the super-campy kids TV show since, as I understand it, it was what put the franchise on the map.

Call me crazy, but I'd actually like to see what Michael Bay's Power Rangers would look like. I mean that in a sense that it would have a darker tone, than having a Rated G feel like the 90's.
