Paramount In Talks With A New Director For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2

Early reports about some major changes to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles left fans fuming, but the reboot ended up being embraced and was a box office hit upon release back in August. However, Paramount are now in talks with a NEW director as Jonathan Liebesman has stepped aside...

The Wrap reports that Earth to Echo director Dave Green has entered talks to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 for Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes. They're said to be in the early stages, so things could change, but the first movie's director Jonathan Liebesman clearly won't be making a return. Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are however returning to write and executive produce the sequel which is produced by Michael Bay. Now, we mentioned the first movie being embraced, but that's only correct in terms of financial success. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has only a 22% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but grossed close to $500 million worldwide. Green looks set to direct Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson starrer Lore (not Lobo), so we'll have to wait and see if he ends iup taking the job. What do you think?

Good, liebsmans [frick]ing awful. He's like if the chameleon from spider-man became a [frick]ing director. Anybody other then him, i'll even take tommy wiseau over liebsman again. Then again, wiseau directing it would make it more hillarious.

Scrap it, and go back to the drawing board. Dump Michael Bay and all his douchie influence as well. The "Teenage Mutant" Ninja Turtles are not eight-foot ugly monsters covered in junk that talk like gangstas. Do something more in line with the current Nick show, as that gets it right in terms of tone, characterization, and back-story.

Seriously, the Nick show is the perfect blend the tone of the original comics, with the fun spirit of the classic animated series.

Awful movie. The great Nick Toon just makes it that more embarrassing. Hopefully a new director will be enough. But the whole creative team should be fired. REDESIGN the turtles while you're at it. They are not supposed to be thuggish quarterbacks.

This is great news.

Jonathan Liebesman is one of the worst Directors in the business right now. This can only mean that the TMNT sequel should be better.

That's because Kevin Eastman was paid to like the movie.

Nice, I liked the movie but hopefully a new director means improvement. I prefer this to any of the live action Transformers films.

Do you go to an all girls school @Jollem? That's the only explanation for you being so catty. Go outside and meet some boys and girls who won't put up with your shit. It'll help you in life.

mediocre movie.
had some fun moments(when the turtles personalities where shown)and lots of terrible ones(when everything else was shown)horrible design choices and it was directed by proxy.
a new director will not make a huge difference though, what make these"movies"get big BO numbers are the BAYisms on it,the general moviegoers love it so don't expect nothing to be changed radically.
just embrace the BAY and conform.

or do like me and watch it without paying for it and then sob for what it could have been.
