Paramount In Talks With A New Director For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2
Early reports about some major changes to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles left fans fuming, but the reboot ended up being embraced and was a box office hit upon release back in August. However, Paramount are now in talks with a NEW director as Jonathan Liebesman has stepped aside...
The Wrap reports that Earth to Echo director Dave Green has entered talks to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 for Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes. They're said to be in the early stages, so things could change, but the first movie's director Jonathan Liebesman clearly won't be making a return. Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are however returning to write and executive produce the sequel which is produced by Michael Bay. Now, we mentioned the first movie being embraced, but that's only correct in terms of financial success. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has only a 22% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but grossed close to $500 million worldwide. Green looks set to direct Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson starrer Lore (not Lobo), so we'll have to wait and see if he ends iup taking the job. What do you think?
