UPDATE: Toys Confirm Michael Bay's NINJA TURTLES Are NOT Teenagers?

A new image of "Evolution Figure Packs" for the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reveal teenage versions of Leonardo (wearing an apron) and Raphael (wearing tighty whities) that are much different than the finished versions.

Hard to believe, but it was all the way back in March of 2012 when we all learned that the working title of the Michael Bay-produced film was Ninja Turtles. Some people were instantly turned off by the implications that the Turtles would not be mutants nor would they be teenagers. Bay even referred to them as "aliens" and that got people quite angry, as you well know. Many months later, Paramount alleviated concerns by putting "Teenage" and "Mutant" back into the title. Clearly, it was a last minute decision as early looks at toy packaging used "Ninja Turtles" as the title. Seems like "Ninja Turtles" will be a more accurate title for the flick as a new image of the "Evolution Figure Packs" feature teenage versions of the Turtles that look dramatically different from the finished versions. The good news? There are baby turtles, so we at least know they aren't aliens.

CBM UPDATE:  We just received an email, directly from Paramount, confirming that the Ninja Turtles will indeed be teenagers in the film.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"), and produced by Michael Bay ("The Rock"). The script was written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, based on characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The cast includes: Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Danny Woodburn as Splinter, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Will Arnett as Vernon and William Fichtner as Shredder. It lands in theaters August 8, 2014.

oh come on...you're reading too much into that. Did you look like a child when you were a teenager??? Probably not. This confirms nothing.

They are toys, don't read into it. Unless you expect a Spider-man on his own homemade goblin glider in one of that franchise. Toys are toys, they will make every version they can to sell, sell, sell.

They're toys... ya know for kids? This will most likely NOT be in the film. People really believe that we're gonna see Raph learning the art of ninja in tighty whiteys?? Get real people.

Then, everything after that slowly started taking it all back.

I agree. These are just silly kids' toys for a silly kids' movie.

Wait...what?

Judging from that ethnically diverse picture of the kids, I'm pretty sure they're not teens

Shocked that nailbiter of all people didn't catch that. I mean really? It was obvious as soon as I saw the photos that this is just marketing and most likely will not be in the movie.

The other guys are right saying they're just toys.
Toys can be misleading sometimes...

For example, last year, I saw lego Mandarin toys for Iron Man 3, but the Mandarin was never in Iron Man 3... :P

All jokes aside though...if the teenage mutant ninja turtles actually AREN'T teenagers then...well, I guess that's just kinda stupid. And pointless. Is there any good reason why they shouldn't be teenagers? Would it make a huge difference to the story if they were?
