THE FLASH Producer Barbara Muschietti Gets Fans Speculating About Henry Cavill's Possible Superman Future

We're not sure this means much, but The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti liking a comment on Instagram has led to speculation online that we could be getting a cameo from Henry Cavill's Man of Steel...

It's been a long time coming, but The Flash will finally race into theaters next year. The movie promises to take us on an epic adventure through the DC Multiverse, with multiple versions of Batman, Supergirl, and possibly even an evil Barry Allen all expected to take centre stage.

There are bound to be some surprise cameos, of course, and the vast majority of fans are anxious for Henry Cavill's Superman to make his return. Honestly, it feels like wishful thinking, especially as talks between the actor and Warner Bros. appear to have broken down long ago (and no one could blame him for wanting to move on after the Justice League debacle).

Recently, The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti shared an update with fans about how work is progressing on the movie as DC FanDome approaches, but it was her decision to like a comment from a fan that has generated speculation online. "Really excited for the film," it reads. "Still [pray] that we get a [Henry Cavill Superman] cameo!"

Many overly optimistic fans have now jumped to the conclusion that this could mean Cavill's Man of Steel will be in the movie, but chances are Muschietti was just appreciative of them sharing their excitement!

It's worth noting that Cavill was in the UK shooting The Witcher at the same time The Flash was in production, so a cameo certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility. If we are saying goodbye to the DCEU as we know it, perhaps this movie could serve as a farewell to his Superman as it seemingly will for Ben Affleck's Batman? (with Sasha Calle's Supergirl replacing him).

Expect to learn more about the movie during tomorrow's DC FanDome event, and you'd best believe we'll have you covered with all the biggest reveals and detailst!

The Flash is set to be released on November 4, 2022.

I have never seen that banner image before. Is that how this Flash runs? With one hand behind his back and the other across his torso??

@TheManWithoutFear - didn't you see justice league? Yeah. He modeled his running after speed skaters.

@TheManWithoutFear - Even in still images, Ezra’s performance as Flash manages to be intolerable.

@TheManWithoutFear - I have no idea why he pattern his running off of speed skaters.

How does that come to mind over just…RUNNING

@Origame - No. I haven't seen any of the DCEU films they never really grabbed me. I guess the first will be The Batman (if that counts as DCEU).

@BlackBeltJones - Haha yeah that does seem like overcomplicating the matter doesn't it. Like if he needs an eg, just watch Usain Bolt.

@TheManWithoutFear - oh no, the batman doesn't count. Definitely not in that universe. And I'm surprised you never got hyped for any of them. I remember there was a lot of hype for man of steel.

I’m not going to guess or anything, but I think it will be very interesting to see the box office for this movie. We are in a post Covid recovery age. That excuse won’t hold forever. Nevertheless until movies make over a billion again, the recovery isn’t full. Spider-Man would’ve been a shoe-in for that. It ain’t here yet either and I won’t say it will or won’t either.

Could Flash flop? TSS did. Could it float? They don’t all float down here. Could it turn the main DCEU around? Covid even messed Wonder Woman up, yes it was bad, but it would’ve had a big opening weekend with short legs and then a very short theater run, much like BVS, which almost made 900 million. And these days, you don’t gotta make 800 plus to be considered a success. 400 is awesome. And the box office continues to recover.

I don't know why anyone would want to reprise a role in the DCEU. What dumpster fire this series has become. Sure, the MCU has its share of problems, but at least those movies are entertaining for the most part. DC movies are painful to watch. Snyder's decisions were cringeworthy, and they're still trying to build off that underperforming and poorly received set of films. Cavill had the worst written part in all the movies. He's better off without DC.
