While we already knew that Fandral and the rest of the Warriors Three would be back for THOR 2, Josh Dallas has commented on returning to Asgard as well as his excitement to work with director Patty Jenkins in a recent interview with IGN Movies. Here are a few excerpts from the Q&A, but you can read it in full by clicking on the link below.

On Whether Or Not He'll Be Back As Fandral For THOR 2:

We are! We are planning a return to Asgard, next year. Thor 2 is happening. A great director called Patty Jenkins is directing the sequel. Ken [Branagh] is not directing, which is obviously a huge shame, because he came in and created that world and created the language and the look of the whole thing. But he's kind of set it all up for us and I think he's staying on as a producer. But yeah, there's going to be some more adventures in the Nine Realms.

On Whether Or Not He's Spoken To Patty About The Movie Yet:

I haven't yet, no. But apparently Marvel are in love with her and I'm sure she is going to be a really exciting and interesting choice. She's done some great work before. Marvel always have a really good idea for those directors that are going to come in and they may seem out of left field, but they always have a plan and they're always really smart. And that's what's so great about working for Marvel, because not only are they movie producers and they make these great movies, but they're comic book guys and they love it and they love the characters and they love the stories.

On His Excitement For THOR 2 And Living Up To Fan Expectations:

They've read these comic books since they were children, so they're very attached. They're very attached to these characters and they're very protective of them. So as an actor coming in, you feel that and you know that. And that's what's also exciting about being a part of projects like that, that people are so excited about seeing it before it even comes out, before it's even done. That's really unique and special as an actor, to be part of projects like that. You're like, "I'm playing these characters… I hope I get it right! I hope someone doesn't go, 'You destroyed my childhood!' or whatever." But the great thing about Marvel is that because they're comic book guys and they love it as much as everybody else does, you feel totally supported coming into that, so it's exciting.

I really got the vibe watching him that this is a role that Ken Brannagh wanted to play but was too old to take on. I could definitely see Brannagh in the role fifteen years ago.

Same with Joss Whedon, they won't let him [frick] up with the Avengers.

They could make a Warriors 3 movie. Love the Characters and the actors who are playing them. This guy looked a little gay, maybe he'll look cooler in Thor 2.

As Big of a fan I am of THor, i gotta admit I am skeptical ...nervous even about Jenkins, I hope it doesn't turn out to be on the soft side, not tryna be sexist at all, but I agree with suspensesmith, i haven't seen a good action packed film directed by a woman

@fangz That's a sensible way of looking at it I guess. Much more credible than the account of someone praising the choice who would praise ANY choice.

Hopefully there IS a method to the madness. I would have loved the continuity of the atmosphear Ken created. But hey, it's a CBM.

I'm pretty certain Branagh isn't for a sequel purely because the guy is just SOOO busy. Making a blockbuster film is a huge commitment and can easily take a couple of years out of your life.

Thats fine if you're a purely a film director but Branagh is also a theatre director, a stage actor and as well as a film and TV actor. He does the whole lot!

He is currently starring a comedy play in Belfast to great reviews having just finished directing a comedy play that won many awards.

@SuspenseSmith - So you never watched 'Point Break' with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze? Or the vampire flick 'Near Dark' with half the cast from James Cameron's Aliens? Or even 'K:19 The Widowmanker' or 'Strange Days'? All directed by Kathryn Bigalow who won the best directors Oscar for 'The Hurt Locker'.

Then you have Lexi Alexander who directed 'Green Street' about our football hooligans here in the UK and then went on to make 'Punisher Warzone' that is literally the only Punisher movie to get the character right!

And how about Karyn Kusama who made the hard hitting boxing film 'Girlfight' that discovered Michelle Rodriguez. She also made the scifi live-action adaptation of MTV's 'Aeon Flux' with Charlize Theron and the horror flick 'Jennifers Body' with Megan Fox.

Mimi Leder made George Clooney's first serious action movie with 'The Peacemaker' and also the epic disaster flick 'Deep Impact'

And then there's Mary Harron who made Christian Bale a star with 'American Psycho', not exactly the chick flick you're thinking women can only produce, trust me!

Thor 2 will be fine, she's a director not an idiot. She knows what genre she's making and she has a writer who is going to supply the story and the action concept. Her job is to visualise that, not turn it into 'My little Pony' and if she wasn't capable of doing that despite her film genre background then they would never have asked her and she would never have accepted. Fanboys were up in arms about Kenneth Brannagh's lack of action film background too and look what happened, he only went on to make the biggest grossing superhero film of the year!

Am looking forward to this one. Definetly want to see more of the Nine Realms, but Natalie Portman has to be in this one.

I really hope they expand abit on The Warriors Three.... there was a great Thor deleted scene where their characters got a bit more of their personalities on screen.

@ brazilianbatman

portman's acting in thor wasn't all that so no need for her to be in the sequel.if he was so in love with her,he'd meet up with her in the avengers which she doesn't star in.

all the best scenes in thor weren't on earth, well apart from the destroyer,if thor was on earth whatever threat came to earth wouldn't he just call in the avengers to help him no longer a thor film.

the avengers (2012) the avengers vs loki, thor 2 should be set on asgard to introduce characters we haven't seen yet.

as it is we may see in the avengers, thor take loki back to asgard at the end of the movie, wouldn't thor have more important things on his mind than jane foster.

as per Fiege statement Thor 2 will indeed put the 95% of scenery in Asgard and my wild guess that Thor bring Jane to Asgard and because she's human Odin might put some test on her, and i sense that they will introduce Surtur or Mangog.

Josh Dallas is from My hometown of New Albany, Indiana. I saw him in a play when he was in High School where he played a swashbuckling pirate. So I was not surprised when he did so well in this movie. Also All of their deleted scenes were pretty good. I would love to get a cut of the film with all of them back in as well.

This is the most I've enjoyed Portman. I absolutely hated her in STAR WARS and couldnt wait for her character to die. I enjoyed her in V for Vendetta, Black Swan and THOR. Maybe I hate the STAR WARS prequels. I like the consistency of using the same actors, but if she's in THOR2, it should be in a form executed from Asgard, where the entire film should take place. Maybe an end credit scene or Hiemdall looking on her. But this needs to be balls to the wall 9 realms epic adventure.
