Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi recently revealed that a four-hour cut of the movie existed before it was edited down to just under two hours for its theatrical release, and it sounds like quite a few key scenes - and characters - ended up being cut from the film.
Christian Bale (Gorr) has confirmed that both Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster) and Peter Dinklage (Eitri) were originally going to appear, and it's now been revealed that Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey also shot a scene/scenes that ended up being removed from the Ragnarok sequel for whatever reason.
This came to light in a piece by Variety, who reports that Headey is being sued for $1.5 million by her former U.K. agency Troika over unpaid commission fees relating to her Love and Thunder part and a number of other projects.
Troika (which re-branded as YMU in 2020) is claiming that Headey owes the agency at least $500,000 for her earnings on the Marvel Studios blockbuster, and is "seeking an account of commission fees owed, an order for Headey to pay the fees, damages for breach of contract, interest and reimbursement of legal fees."
In her defence, Headey denies ever signing any contract with Troika, and says both parties were acting on an oral agreement. The actress also disputes that Troika has any claim to commission on her work on Thor: Love and Thunder, which reportedly came about after Waititi "approached her directly."
Having seen Love and Thunder, we can confirm that Headey doesn't appear in the movie or its post-credits scenes, but we'd be very interested to find out who she was cast as! With any luck, her scenes will be included on the Blu-ray release.
