BUMBLEBEE Stomps Past $100 Million Domestic & $300 Million Worldwide; Plus New International Posters

As many expected, Paramount's Bumblebee is showing off some really healthy legs at the global box office and it's now topped $100 million in the United States and $300 million worldwide.

Slowly, but surely, Travis Knight's critically-acclaimed Bumblebee continues to pick up steam at the global box office and thanks to healthy pair of legs, it's now officially topped $307.9 million worldwide ($100.1M domestic; $207.8M foreign) less than one month into its run.

The Paramount Pictures production reportedly cost $135 million (without P&A), so these latest numbers are incredibly promising and bode well for not only a sequel, but also the future of the Transformers franchise as the studio hopes to breathe new life into the blockbuster action series that used to repeatedly churn out billion-dollar hits.

On its current trajectory, a finish in the $400 million range seems probable, but it'll still way too early to make a call as its run is far from over and we could ultimately see it finish higher or possibly lower, depending on how it holds internationally over the course of the next few weeks.

Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Amazing how much damage The Last Knight did to the franchise. These films used to make a billion dollars, now something like a 400 mil ww run is reality.

@HeavyMetal4Life - honestly I put the blame on what Bay did with Age of Extinction.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I mean yeah the Last Knight "bombed" but Age of Extinction was the last chance to show the audience if Bay was ever going to care about this property.

@DeadWade213 - fair enough. It certainly began with that film and was solidified with Last Knight.

Michael Bay really drove this franchise into the ground, and Hasbro is to blame for not taking back the reins earlier. I get it... it’s very hard to do so when a director’s films are bringing in $1b,but the cratering US box office was a sure sign that the franchise wasn’t healthy.

They should have stuck firm to actually rebooting the series after the third one as they originally intended before welcoming Bay back to do the Whalberg films... then they might have been able to save the franchise without the need to rebuild audience trust on such a grand level.

@Chewtoy - so what was excuse for Spider-Man movies before Spider-Man homecoming ny one director be responsible for making series some sequels sucked in bay series but I like bay movies bay did what no cartoon, comics could have ever done with series made transformers popular all over again and took new transformers fans had them like transformers new transformer fans never ever will watch cartoons and read comics there is good and bad in bay version of transformers what you mostly saw in bay version cartoons and comics have as well

That's not impressive for the sixth movie in a franchise that regularly demolished the box office.

@blackandyellow - It’s not impressive at all, but then “The Last Knight” had a Worldwide Box Office Gross that was down $500m from the prior film “Age of Extinction”. Five hundred million dollars. That’s the kind of freefall the series was already in.

@blackandyellow - No, but as long it does not lose the studio money, it will be good.

Right now they need to focus on winning back the audience so they can go back to make 1B in future films

@blackandyellow - I think the damage is already done. Michael Bay has killed it and even though Bumblebee is the Transformers movie we should’ve always had, I think movie goers have had enough. It’s as much the studios fault as it is Bay’s.

I also do wonder if it would be doing better if it had a title like “Transformers Begins: Bumblebee” or some such thing.
