This morning, San Diego Comic-Con released their schedule for Thursday, the first full day and with it, information on a panel for the upcoming animated series: "Transformers Prime."
The latest Transformers series, "Prime" executive producers include Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who wrote the first two Transformers films, along with Jeff Kline, who did "Men in Black: The Series."
At the recent Transformers convention, BotCon, seibertron.com reported on several points revealed about "Transformers Prime." This included that Peter Cullen will be voicing Optimus Prime, and that Megatron will be voiced by Frank Welker. Cullen, and Welker voiced both their characters in the first Transformers series.
The computer animated series will take place on Earth. It will pick up with the Autobots and Decepticons living there for awhile, and the Decepticons seemingly laying low. (Obviously there's something going on behind the scenes.)
Autobots that are confirmed are Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, Ratchet, and Cliffjumper. Confirmed Decepticons are Starscream and Soundwave, who, of course, will be working for Megatron.
The "Transformers Prime" panel will be held at Comic-Con on Thursday, July 22nd at 4:30pm-5:30pm in Room 7AB. Orci, Kurtzman, and Kline will take part in the panel. Exclusive footage and character reveals will be included.
"Transformers Prime" airs later this year, on a new cable channel known as the Hub, which will replace Discovery Kids.
I'm really hoping this series will be good. "Transformers Animated" was really cheap in my opinion. I hope Soundwave sounds as cool as he did in the original series.
