Much to people's surprise, Mr. Michael 'BOOM BOOM' Bay decided to follow up his smash-hit threequel Transformers: Dark of the Moon with an upcoming fourth installment starring Mark Wahlberg. During the Tribeca Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with young actor Jack Reynor, who is set to star in the new film. Reynor had this to say when quizzed about the upcoming project:

All I knew was basically, Michael was going to make Transformers 4 and we were going to chat about me being in it," he says of the meeting. "We didn’t chat about making a fourth or any of the motives behind it. But personally, I think there’s a lot more to be done with it. There’s a whole new direction to take it in, and a lot more to explore in that universe, and I think we’re going to make a definitive step away from the previous movies, and this is going to be a lot of fun and I’m incredibly excited.

Transformers 4 stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Stanley Tucci. The film is set to hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

They should just reboot this like, 10 years from now. And actually put transformers that people care about, not no Mudflap or Skids. I didn't care for the look they gave Mirage. I like his blue and white color. And Hound, definitely put him in.

So in other words this was a typical interview about a prequel/sequel. "You know the last movie was so big, we can't keep going bigger so we want to go smaller but but with more character depth." "Well there's so many amazing directions we can go in. But this will definitely be a different direction that we've seen before. You can't just keep repeating yourself." "We really want to explore the DNA of this universe, and maybe pull something else out that was unexpected." "beane2099 is so smart and awesome and so much better looking than I am that we're just going to give him the money this movie makes." Y'know, typical statements you might hear in one of these interviews.
