Avatar The Last Airbender Movie Trailer To Premier With Transformers ROTF

Even The Avatar isnt above the twitter treatment.

I was a huge fan of The sixth sense, ever since I saw that movie I was happy to hear of any other M. Night Shymalan projects getting the green light. However after seeing a few of his latest projects under perform I'm not to fired up about M. Night taking the reins of Avatar The Last Airbender.

The cartoon reminded me of the great cartoons of the 80's and I felt like a kid watching them. The series ended prematurely, even after Aang defeated The Fire Lord the series could have kept going. It's as if the writers introduced us to a whole new world, got us involved with the right amount of character development and right after the first bang we got it taken away from us. Not to cool.

This is another property that needs to be handled with care and receive the proper movie treatment. M. Night's anti action approach in his movies are well known. Having no action in The Last Airbender would make no sense at all. Either way Producer Frank Marshall has confirmed via twitter we will get our first glimpse of M. Night Shyamalan's Avatar The Last Airbender movie trailer when we all go see Transformers ROTF. If the trailer is available before hand I will do my best to post. On pins and needles waiting to see this trailer, hoping it's not to far off from the source.

I'm not familiar with this story, but I hope it works out. Shymalan's movies have been horrible, I think the only two that are decent is Unbreakable and Sixth Sense. Maybe this will be his reborn movie.

I have watched the entire series and loved it. I stumbled into the series one day when i was back home visiting from school. It does take you back to the older cartoons. Will this movie use real people or will it be a cartoon? also will it start from the end of the series or start from the beginning? If it starts from the beginning then I couldn't see one movie covering everything.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a live action the show actually kept you entertained for long period of times which I think is quite hard considering.....

Anyways as for M. Night rocking it I for once have faith I think he has realized his previous shit was wack besides signs 6th sense and unbreakable and he will do a better job hence forth

all i know is that if they dont make the fire nation chinese and give the sould of this show it honor then i will boycot. The best thing about this show was the multicultural and diverse nature of it!. I really wanted Katara to be of Native american, Inuit or Mongolian decent . There are many beautiful talented young actresses out there who fit that part. Again imagine if in The Lord of The Rings the directors took liberties to change races or looks of the characters like that.

Avatar was the best thing that Nick has ever done. I like the way each nation had a different fighting style, and their fighting style were real techniques. I hope they do the movie justice. The only nick cartoon that had a plot. I hope they continue the show

I've noticed that all the Fire nation characters are played by middle eastern actors...you all know Shamalamahooha is gunna make a cameo as some fire nation person

@ davidzuck - Shamalamahooha? Lol.

There's clearly only one Avatar to look foward to, and that's James Camerons.

Alten wow man i didn't think you would go with a robot chicken joke there lol... i hope this isn't another DBE it will kill m. night if it is i actually like the avatar it was pretty cool that and when nick made danny phantom it was pretty awesome i think the movie could have potential though i mean granted all his other movies were shitty but we still have the sixth sense right...

adamant877 - 4/30/2009, 5:06 PM
Has a LOT of potential, I just hope that Shyamalan's usual penchant for overly long dialogue, and dry interactions between characters doesn't put me and my kids to sleep between the fight sequences.
(I'll bring a pillow, just in case.) ;-)

M. Night Shayamalan is one of the worst [frick]ing film makers on the planet. He should be shot into the sun. Sixth Sense was clever, but Unbreakable is his only praiseworthy movie, and that's only because it's the only one that is entertaining more than once. The rest of his movies are dried piles of larvae shit. My 3 year old comes up with better entertainment, and if he is doing Airbender, chances are it'll end up the same.

I agree with the Myth. I'm a big fan of the series, but this movie will be terrible. The Happening was the worst piece of shit excuse for a movie that I've ever seen. The acting was terrible and I've seen all of the actors do a good job in other movies, so it couldn't have been them. It was the director because he sucks and he's going to ruin this movie too.

The show is in an alternate world, so it doesn't really matter what race the people are. But he casted everyone Middle Eastern! He even casted the Middle Eastern guy from the Daily Show....

Idk, I really hope this movie works out, but I don't think it will. It's supposed to be made into three movies and M. Night says he thinks they are going to be the next Star Wars.... bull...shit...
GUNSMITH
GUNSMITH - 5/2/2009, 10:03 AM
I WOULD HAVE RATHER GOTTEN ROBERT RODRIGUEZ TO DIRECT AIRBENDER. IM JUST CURIOUS ,WHY M KNIGHT? I TRIED TI FIGURE OUT WHY, HIS TRACK RECORD-WIERD OR SCARY MOVIES THAT MAKE U THINK..UHHH...CAN SOMEONE MAYBE FIGURE OUT WHY THEY WOULD CHOOSE HIM? I REALLY DONT GET WHY...
ElBeaster
ElBeaster - 5/3/2009, 8:29 AM
The thought behind choosing the director was probably, "There's never been a good live action anime based movie. Why start now?" .....and then they chose M. Night.

nobody asked him to do anything, he asked the studio if he could make it into a movie because he and his kids watch the show together and he thought the idea was good.

The series was amazing, its one of the few series i have actually bought the dvd of. yes it did end slightly early, but I rather it end on such a good note than it being dragged on and into utter disaster.

If you have not seen the series, i suggest looking it up on Veoh. I hope and pray M Night does a good job with this, it truly is one of my favorite all time.

I'm pretty sure M. Night is gonna make this well received Americ-Animes suck. He'll make it worse than Dragonball and the first Hulk movie combined.

They're making a second Dragonball? But who would see it?!?! Fans were pissed and I don't even know how non-fans even heard about it. I hadn't seen one advertisement for that movie and one day it was just in theaters!
