At the recent Phoenix Comic Con in Arizona, Arrow star Stephen Amell was asked a few questions about the future of Harley Quinn in the show, which cameoed in episode 16, as played by Cassidy Alexa and voiced by Tara Strong. Read on to see what he said!
When asked by a fan about Quinn's cameo in Episode 16 "Suicide Squad" and her possible future in the show, Steven Amell responded "I don't know if she's going to be involved in Season Three, but the high-pitched voice in Episode 16 was absolutely Harley Quinn," Amell admitted that "I didn't know about any of this, by the way, because I wasn't in that scene. But I'm a fan and I remember seeing that preview and feeling like I should have known that this was going to happen!" He finished the interview by moving onto the season 2 finale, saying that "I also know that there was an additional scene with that character in the finale -- again, still in the cell, still with her back to us -- but it had to be cut for time."
Harleen Quinzel was a psychiatric intern at Arkham Asylum. While researching the lunatics at Arkham, she became fascinated with one particular inmate. Ambitiously volunteering to analyze him, she pleaded with the doctors at Arkham for three months before she could treat him. After he gained her sympathy during their sessions, he seduced her, causing her to fall madly in love with him. After helping him escape from the asylum more than once Harleen was suspected by the authorities, who revoked her license and placed her in her own cell. During an earthquake in Gotham City, she fled and became Harley Quinn, the sidekick to the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the Joker.
