SUIT UP - Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and Diggle (David Ramsey) confront Laurel (Katie Cassidy) about trying to step into her sister's shoes and warn her to stop before she gets herself killed. However, when Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones) kidnaps the city's Aldermen and threatens to kill them all unless the police evacuate The Glades, it's all suits on deck. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) steps in to help Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and the police force fight Brick, showing Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) a new side of her boss. Malcom (John Barrowman) tells Thea (Willa Holland) that Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) is after him and his family and they must leave town immediately. Nick Copus directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Ben Sokolowski (#311).

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Paul Blackthorne as Captain Quentin Lance
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom
Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro/Sarab
Rila Fukushima as Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana
Katrina Law as Nyssa al Ghul
Matt Nable as Ra's al Ghul

Tonight's episode was really great.

Just wish they hadn't shown Oliver alive so soon.

Also why didn't they have him in the Lazarus Pit?

I'm assuming they'll explain how he was brought back to life?

Great to see Laurel finally suiting up as the Black Canary. I get what they were doing, as I've always predicted but it's sad they wrote her so badly before...

But now that she has something to do, we should get some really great scenes from her.

Slightly disappointed that Oliver wasnt resurrected by the Lazarus pit, especially from that huge fall lol

I'm also really warming up to Laurel as Black Canary (I've liked her but not so much during last season).

I just really don't like that they made Laurel the Black Canary. She trained for all of what? 3 months? Even though it would've been a departure from the comics, killing her and keeping Sara as Canary would've been much better.

Still, this was a pretty good episode. Having Ollie stay dead for an other week or two would've been cool, but I guess if we know he'll be back eventually it's kind of irrelevant.

Ok is Brick like impervious to bullets? Is he a metahuman? I was a bit confused in the latest episode. Please don't kill me.

So glad they had that line at the very end of the episode because if they had tried to say he had survived that cliff fall without any magic or anything that would have just been a step too far.

To you guys saying that she is the Canary, the costume doesn't make the hero. They've made that pretty clear. And more than a few times. Even in the scene where she uses that stick to slap a guy, it was pretty damn clear. Have comicbooks taught you nothing?! Great ep btw, dragged at the end a little bit, but surely better than ep 10 of the Flash which was totally meh.

Will episode 13 finally introduce the Atom without shrinking like episode 13 of Flash is doing the full Firestorm introduction? We know about episodes 10-12 and 14, but I can't remember anything about episode 13.

Hope they use a similar style to agent carter, dirty boxing, cheap shots etc rather than trying to turn her into a fricking ninja assassin

I have a feeling Brick is just a lacky for Slade. He returns in episode 13(I think) and Brick is undoing all the work team Arrow has done since Slade was defeated. Just seems like a well orchestrated plan Slade would come up with.

that's just not true at all. It's more about technique and training. Any professional male fighter in flyweight could easily knockout a 400lb man, or any professionally trained female fighter could knock out a 200lb man. For example, Ronda Rousey or Carla Esparza could easily knock out a 200lbs man with a soccer kick to the head. Ronda Rousey can definitely knock out a 200lb man with ease. So i say it does matter if she was training all of her life because if she was she'd be a great fighter especially in the comic book world.

I'm not gonna lie, Laurel actually looks really good in the costume. Katie is also selling the whole thing really well too.

I really liked the episode. SO MUCH BETTER than the Flash epi, which i liked a lot less than i was expecting.

@batmannightwingrobin I know what they were doing, but I disliked how they did her arc in Season 2. Season 1 was fine, but Season 2 they nearly butchered the character where most didn't enjoy it when she came on screen.

They just should have found something better for her to do in Season 2, but that's forgivable if they write her well in Season 3.

Wow, people complaining that a COMIC BOOK show isn't believable. SMH I guess if it's written on paper, in comic book form, then it's all good, but when it jumps to the t.v. screen, it's a waste and unbelievable. Yes, there are plenty of eye roll moments, but again, it's based off of a freaking comic book!!! It's not supposed to be real world believable!

I'm thinking Laurel's Black Canary is actually DCTV's Daredevil.

@nickh0801 The excuse that it's just superheroes or just comics just doesn't cut it. Especially when a show or movie contradicts it's own logic and science. That's why things like blowing the fridge in Indy 4 fail. You have scenes like that and Oliver surviving that fall that are just too messed up to accept. Sarah got shot with arrows and fell not even half as far as Oliver and she was dead before Laurel got to her. That's the contradiction.

And just why would Merlyn say he would feel guilty about Oliver when he killed Sarah? Why was Team Arrow not compelled to bring down Merlyn after he killed 1 of their own and seemingly caused Oliver's death? That doesn't gel.

@JackFapper oh stop it with the cynical shit. There are people plenty smarter than you that can enjoy it because they don't take this stuff too seriously, like they shouldn't. Every kid on an internet forum with a negative outlook on life think they're a f*****g genius!

I have to agree with supes123. I have helped train female boxers and I promise you they're some 120 ponders that will knock you on your ass. One had one of the best body hooks you can imagine. Doesn't matter how small you are, if you hit someone in the right spot they'll go down

@ABetterTomorrow Of course I knew the Arrow apologist who is so obsessed with Arrow that he has written over a 1000 Arrow apologies would come stumbling in the door with another of his desperate attempts to cover up the failings of his favorite TV show, starring Stephen Amell, the guy he just can't stop talking about. ;)

Even the old Superfriends cartoon would apply more logic than Arrow. Even The Dukes Of Hazzard and Gilligans Island had more respect for reality and it's viewers than Arrow.

Your fallback position is that it's fiction. Even fiction needs standards. A show that has a guy fall 1200 ft and land on solid rock and need only a few stitches has none. You speak of idiocy because I point out it's absurdity simply because you really like Arrow and just cannot stop talking about Amell.

Even TASM2 or Batman And Robin didn't have such stupidity as was seen on Arrow last night. Arrow is the new low.

Now you can do your apology tour or you can attack someone for not being scammed by bad TV like you. What you can't do is stop people from seeing Arrow for the garbage it is.
