Fans of The CW's Arrowverse were a bit caught of guard when the network revealed that the upcoming fourth season of Black Lightning would be its last. While not a ratings juggernaut, the show had a solid following and was viewed by many as the best series among the CW's many superhero offerings.
It looks as if the tragedy that took place in season 3 will play a big role in where viewers find Black Lightning at the start of season 4. A spinoff starring Jordan Calloway's Khalil Payne aka Painkiller, is currently in development at the network so its possible that many of the supporting characters may move on to the new show.
