DC Universe may be no more, but we found out late last year that one of the streaming service's best original series, Doom Patrol, would continue on HBO Max, and the third season was recently given an official premiere date of September 23.
Now, we have a full trailer to hype-up the show's return, and if you thought the teaser promo was crazy, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Season 2 ended on something of a cliffhanger, with the increasingly unstable Dorothy (Abigail Shapiro) summoning the twisted Candlemaker to deal with the crew. Our band of misfit heroes clearly make it through that encounter in one piece, but it looks like they're going to have a whole lot of new - and increasingly bizarre - problems to contend with.
The promo begins with Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arriving at Doom Manor via time-machine to warn the team about the threat posed by the Brotherhood of Evil. From there, we get new looks at the likes of Brain, his gorilla assistant Monsieur Mallah, and various other weird and wonderful creatures as Robot Man, Cyborg, Jane, Elastigirl and co. must decide if they're going to suit-up and become an actual super-team in an effort to combat the forces of darkness.
Season three opens on the culmination of Dorothy’s (Abi Monterey) confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss. The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.
Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), The Chief (Timothy Dalton), and Victor Stone/Cyborg (Joivan Wade) are all set to return.
