GOTHAM: Bruce Wayne Steps Up To Protect His City In The New Promo For Season 5, Episode 11: "They Did What?"

With only two episodes remaining, Gothham is kicking it into high gear and in four weeks, when the show returns, Bruce Wayne will finally step up to save his city from Bane and Nyssa al Ghul!

Gotham pulled off one of its biggest - and arguably best - twists as we learned that "Secretary Walker" was actually Nyssa al Ghul (Jaime Murray), one of the Daughters of the Demon, who's hellbent on getting revenge on both Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) for the demise of her very evil father, Ra's al Ghul (Alexander Siddig).

Unfortunately for our heroes, she has Bane (Shane West) leading the League of Shadows and he's already making his mark as the episode saw him break Alfred's (Sean Pertwee) back, a move that'll finally force young Bruce to step out of theh shadows and protect his city.

Meanwhile, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) gave birth to her and Jim's daughter and while they held back on revealing her name, it's probably safe to say the world's future Batgirl has arrived.

TBD

Next episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, April 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer and writer Bruno Heller and executive producers Danny Cannon and John Stephens, GOTHAM follows the rise of Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Beginning in Winter 2019, GOTHAM will air its fifth and final season, wrapping up this beloved series in a farewell event that will focus on Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) transformation into the caped crusader.

Gotham features:
Ben McKenzie as James Gordon
Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock
David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne
Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth
Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins
Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin
Erin Richards as Barbara Kean
Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle
Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/The Riddler
Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox
Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean/Cyrus Gold
Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan
Alexander Siddig as Ra's al Ghul
Peyton List as Ivy Pepper/Poison Ivy
David W. Thompson as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
Anthony Carrigan as Victor Zsasz
BD Wong as Hugo Strange
Benedict Samuel as Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter
Cameron Monaghan as Jeremiah Valeska/Joker
Shane West as Eduardo Dorrance/Bane

Congratulations to Jeep Swenson, you're no longer the worst Bane.

This Bane isn't as bad as Batman and Robin's. At least this Bane has a cool voice.

@Nightwing1015 - I really liked his voice too.. that is what I was looking forward to most about last night's episode and it didn't disappoint

@BlackBeltJones - I know! It’s crazy how involved this Bruce Wayne is with the crap going on in Gotham.
None of these characters should find it difficult finding out Batman’s identity!!!

So Barbara gave birth to an offspring of Jim's and hers, despite that whatever happened to Lee before which I skipped it seemed they were going to stick together always as part of the liberties the show took, is for me quite a turn because it means Jim went back to his old flame from S1.

Hmm, four weeks of hiatus till the final 2 episodes. Maybe it’s about time to test the power of binging. 🤔

What is the over-under body count of slain police officers on this show, all seasons combined? 350?

@GeneralZod - lets face it, at this point its a miracle gotham still has police, with all the cop deaths and cops quitting because of all the cop deaths.

I have to say besides the awful costume He was a Good Bane. And I think Arrow has the Hotter Nyssa al Ghul

This was a solid episode, a nice somewhat return to form for the show after the last two mediocre episodes. Still, Jeremiah's absence is duly noted and without him, there just seems to be something missing. He really held the first 7 episodes together so well, even when he wasn't present.

With regards to Bane, yeah maybe his look is a bit 'cheap, but he sounds much better than Hardy's bane, and I thought he was pretty good and the highlight of the episode. He's played well and pretty violent.

I thought most of the episode was solid to strong outside of Nyssa. I had a feeling she was going to be Talia or Nyssa, so it wasn't a complete shock for Walker to be revealed as Nyssa. But man was she a shoehorned in character that feels like them ripping off TDKR here, and I thought her dialogue was pretty lame and stereotypical comic book villain.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Hardy’s Bane was perfect in every single way imo

Shows so far this week:

1. Arrow/Supergirl (pretty good)
3. Gotham (solid/fine)
4. The Flash (meh/okay)
5. Black Lightning (meh/okay)

Heheh really liked this episode, the only twist is that Walker was Nyssa and not Talia.
I love them both tbh. :3

Voice aside, I found Bane to be very underwhelming. Considering the episode title was named for him .. I expected something a little better

His voice was pretty great and clear which was nice. That's about the only positive I could take from the character

I don't know if it's been announced but I'm expecting a pretty large time jump over the last 2 episodes. Does anyone know if they are longer episodes?

Personally .. I would have preferred a Gotham TV Movie event .. a solid 2 hour finale kind of thing ..

Is "Gothham" some kind of British scifi series or something?
