SUPERGIRL Alum Jenna Dewan Tatum Looks, Well, Super In This Must-See New Photoshoot
Jenna Dewan Tatum played Lucy Lane in Supergirl before her abrupt departure but this new photoshoot featuring the actress and wife of Gambit star Channing Tatum will leave you hoping she returns one day!
The first season of Supergirl aired on CBS and it was a mixed bag. While it certainly had its moments, fans found fault with a lot of creative decision which were made, including the decision to have the Girl of Steel pine after the hunky "James" Olsen. That storyline involved Lucy Lane, a character who was a big part of Smallville but changed here to be even more different to her journalist sister, Lois.
Played by Jenna Dewan Tatum, the character's story arc didn't last particularly long and was quickly wrapped up when the DC Comics TV series later made the leap to The CW for its second season.
However, if you've forgotten all about Lucy Lane, do we have a reminder for you! By clicking either one of the buttons below, you can check out an unmissable new photoshoot the actress has taken part in for Health Magazine. Tatum actually looks every bit the superhero here and it will be interesting seeing if she lands a big comic book related role in future given her husband's tie to the X-Men Universe...
Jenna Dewan Tatum started her career as a backup dancer for artists like Janet Jackson, Pink, and Missy Elliot but after a number of big and small screen appearances, she landed a role in 2006's Step Up.
It was during the shooting of that movie she met her now husband, Channing Tatum. His career has obviously taken off in a big way since then as he's starred in the likes of 21 Jump Street and Foxcatcher.
Jenna, meanwhile, has a long list of acting credits to her name, including The Grudge 2, American Horror Story, and The Mindy Project. However, it was in 2013 the actress landed a role in Supergirl.
Tatum played Lucy Lane in the then CBS series but her stint came to abrupt end when Supergirl moved to The CW. We never really got an explanation for why she left but there could be a number of reasons.
The DC TV series moved from California to Vancouver and the budget was slashed as well. Lucy never really took off with fans either and she was only ever really there to be part of a love triangle.
That obviously involved Kara Danvers and James Olsen but when the show changed networks, creative decisions were made which meant that Supergirl and the photographer were no longer a thing.
While Lois Lane is coming to Supergirl in the near future, it seems highly unlikely that we'll ever see Lucy again and Tatum is now busy with a number of projects both in film and on television.
Would you like to see Tatum in another comic book project? Perhaps she could join her husband in Gambit? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
