Well, the cat's out of the bag.

After nearly a year of working in very close proximity, tonight's episode finally saw Kara (Melissa Benoist) learn that Sam (Odette Annable) and Reign are one and the same, which should have a pretty major fallout come next week when she confronts Lena (Katie McGrath) for keeping such a major secret that could have apocalyptic consequences.

Meanwhile, Kara and her team will also have to do battle with all three Worldkillers and Guardian will be tasked with shadowing Lena, who Kara no longer trusts.

Watch the new promo for episode seventeen, titled "Trinity," below:

"Trinity" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-V) (HDTV)

SUPERGIRL TAKES ON ALL THREE WORLDKILLERS - Still reeling after learning about Lena's (Katie McGrath) secret, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) asks Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) for a favor that could alter his relationship with Lena forever. Meanwhile, with all three Worldkillers united, Supergirl and the team brace for an epic battle. Caitlin Parrish & Erica Weiss directed the episode with story by Jessica Queller and teleplay by Caitlin Parrish & Derek Simon (#317). Original airdate 5/7/2018.

Not much action this week but that seems to being saved for next week. The verbal confrontations between Samantha and Reign were the best parts even if they were brief, but seeing actors play against each other is fun and Odette Annable doing both the human victim and the villain was well done. Reign really felt like an entire different person and scary enough to make Samantha want to just escape from each confrontation. So the Jekyll and Hyde effect was on point.

Most importantly the reveal that Reign doesn't exactly live inside of her but resides in another dimension or sort of astral plane, that's neat. And how there is an enzyme that could be used to separate them.

Winn trolling Brainiac-5 with that Freddy Kruger reference. Didn't see it coming. Funny how he was the only that could tell it was him earlier.

That scene where he was ready to accept death due to the sickness and how much he wished he had realized earlier his potential to do Steve Jobs-esque things...really wished that some of those spoilers had not come out during the break because things are beginning to slowly fit in with where they are going.

Lena with that smooth save when Jimmy called asking for some help in finding a cure.

After this episode Kara likely will be more open to Imra's POV about killing the Worldkillers now more than ever since they finally joined. But I liked that Imra might look up to Supergirl but isn't some kind of blind fanatic, she has her own personal agency for this.

@NinnesMBC - its only been the last few episodes since the show returned imo before the midseason finale i was really liking this show (it was easier to ignore the sjw stuff) but after it came back it really went over the top with the melodrama and the sjw stuff seemed to have been turned up a notch
