The Man Of Steel Lends A Helping Hand In The First Clip From SUPERGIRL Season 2

Over the past decade, Tom Welling (Smallville), Henry Cavill (Man Of Steel), and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) have all left their marks as Superman, and in two weeks, it's time for Tyler Hoechlin (Everybody Wants Some!!) to bring to life his own version of the DC icon as well as to his mild-mannered alter-ego, Clark Kent.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a first look clip of Hoechlin as Kent on the phone with an off-screen Perry White and then as the iconic Man of Steel, who arrives just in the nick of time to help out his cousin Kara, played by Melissa Benoist (Patriots Day). Check out the clip below:

THE CW HAS A NEW HERO AND SHE'S BRINGING SUPERMAN WITH HER - When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), to stop it. Kara is thrilled to have family in town but it leaves Alex (Chyler Leigh) feeling a bit left out. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl are stunned by the pod that came crashing to Earth. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Jessica Queller (#201).

The hour-long drama centers on Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who was born on the planet Krypton and escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen
Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Jenna Dewan-Tatum as Lucy Lane
Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord
Helen Slater as Dr. Eliza Danvers
Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers
Laura Vandervoort as Indigo
Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer
Chris Wood in an undisclosed role
Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Lynda Carter as the President of the United States
Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman

@grif - Ever read a comic? Supergirl has always shared Superman's rogues. She doesn't have a gallery of her own apart from arguably Silver Banshee. Heck, her Rebirth issues look like they have Cyborg Superman.

I would totally watch a TV show of this Superman, and I currently watch ZERO comic book TV shows (nothing - no Marvel or DC, though Luke Cage looks f-ing awesome)

@duncboy - Not even the Netflix series? You've got to watch at least those. You wont be disappointed.

Hate complaining about this so much but Christ is he skinny. Wonder why Jimmy Olsen calls him "The big guy" when he is twice his size

Battabing - 9/26/2016, 11:46 AM
@EnnisFan - Because the big guy can lift a key that weighs a quintillion tons.
Also, he's got big stature in society.
Let's not act like Superman is the tallest guy in the DCU.

@Battabing - Yeah I understand, just find it funny, that's why I said I hate complaining about it.

@Battabing - Barring Martian Manhunter he is one of it's stockiest heroes though.

Very cheesy, but sort of the right kind of cheesy. Overall, Supergirl is a very flawed show, and I'm not sold on this Superman, since he seems like an overreaction away from Snyderman while skipping over a happy middle.

The CW is still better than the movies right now, so there's that...

hahaha. that was awesome. felt like watching superman. that was more superman then mos and bvs put together. and i enjoyed bvs. great clarke to. very christopher reeve. the music was a little tacky. and for some one who could lift planets, i dont understand why so hard to stop a plane.
GenreFan
GenreFan - 9/26/2016, 10:28 AM
@kallel - I kind of look at it like, sure he can lift a planet but if he suddenly grips that plane with the needed strength the wing would more thank likely fail or be ripped off completely. Imagine trying to I guess catch a raw egg without breaking it. Sure its easy to catch, but if its going at you quick and you catch it with heavy hands its going to break. Super-Cousins catching a plane is like handling a raw egg. Kid gloves needed.

Well ... that's my take anyway haha.
