The CW's SUPERMAN & LOIS Rumored To Include Jonathan Kent/Superboy And Damian Wayne/Robin

Superman & Lois is coming to The CW, and a new rumour claims that the series could end up including DC Comics' "Super Sons." Find out more details on what to expect from the upcoming show after the jump...

According to GWW (who have a solid track record when it comes to TV scoops), Clark Kent and Lois Lane's baby - who will first appear in Crisis on Infinite Earths - will be aged up for the planned Superman & Lois TV series on The CW. While there's no word on how that will happen, it would mean that we'll get to meet Jonathan Kent/Superboy in the show.

According to a casting breakdown, the network is looking to add "Matthew" (that's obviously a codename), a "14-year old Caucasian boy, who is well on his way to becoming a physical specimen. Matthew is a clean cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated." Curiously, he's also described as a "three-sport athlete."

The site also believes that Damian Wayne/Robin is set to appear, and for that hero, they're looking for another 14-year old Caucasian who this time "has a young Leonardo DiCaprio quality and an inherent darkness to him. Ethan is wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety limits his interactions with people. [He] spends most of his free time playing video games."

It's worth remembering that networks and studios sometimes try to hide the identities of big name characters with false details, so there's nothing to say Jon will definitley be an athlete or that Damian loves games.

What's more interesting is that Superman & Lois could end up including The Super Sons, and that's something you have to believe will lend this series a very different feel to previous adventures revolving around the Man of Steel and his wife, the intrepid Daily Planet reporter.

Still, it's hard not to wonder where Batman will be in all this. For now, we'll have to wait and see

That would be cool, if it happens I guess Jon will be aged up. Although if it happens, id say they need to put Damian in Batwoman and just do an occasional crossover.

@dracula - Damian would be curious character in Arrowerse. Thalia and Al Ghul-dynasty has been already introduced in Arrow, so have they had interaction with Batman also? Is Thalia Damian's mother here too? Robin was name dropped in Batwoman already, but which version. Bruce has surely already been Batman long enough to bee at 4th Robin already.
And will the upcoming crisis change the continuity with these things?

But yeah, I am really hoping to see Damian in both upcoming Superman&Lois show as well as in Batwoman too. Hopefully Nightwing will show up too at some point.

I think this is going too far. You can have Batwoman without Batman. But can you have Damien without Batman? Who is looking after him? Where is the rest of the Bat-Family? Why hasn't Talia mentioned him before on Arrow?

@Nightwing1015 - I was going to say i was hyped they are bringing in Damian ..but what you say here makes sense. Need more Bats. I like what Titans did with Batman last season - was a nice inclusion and done well i think. Shame the CW cant get their act together - but i think thats more down to the movie universe. Plus im not really liking what they're doing with Batwoman atm....i cant connect with it

AbidNaga - 11/19/2019, 2:55 AM
@Nightwing1015 - Isn't Supergirl on another earth though? And there have been a few Batman references in Supergirl specifically so he definitely exists on their earth.

But yeah, it'll be a bit weird for Damian to suddenly appear on that show and then having the most minimal of Batman references. Though if they get Tomasi on board, i'll most definitely give this a shot. Loved his Super-Sons

@AbidNaga - Superman supergirl and Batwoman are both from different universe
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 11/19/2019, 6:02 AM
@AbidNaga - Yeah but there is a theory that post-crisis all earths will be merged. Which I think makes sense for them to do.

@Nightwing1015 - Its obvious its going to be one earth....
WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 11/19/2019, 7:17 AM
@Nightwing1015 -

Because the Earth One Talia didn't have a son with Bruce Wayne but perhaps the Earth-38 version
did.

By merging Earths CW could merge the backstories of Earth-1 and Earth-38 Batman to create a
new version that brings in Batman being an old ally (frenemie) of Superman who also had a kid with Talia
from the Earth-38 timeline while still going missing three years ago from Earth-1.

Why couldn't Lois and Clark who are in their early 40s have married earlier in the new timeline and
had their own son while taking in Damien when Bruce went missing?

You're worried a kid who led the League of Assassins didnt have supervision?
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 11/19/2019, 7:27 AM
@Battabing - IK he can look after himself but would the entire Batfamily really abandon him? Seems implausible.
Battabing
Battabing - 11/19/2019, 10:30 AM
@Nightwing1015 - We don't know that there is a Batfamily. Damian could just be getting to Gotham only to find that his father is missing.
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 11/19/2019, 10:32 AM
@Battabing - That would be a pretty big change to the source material. But we do know there's a Batfamily, at least on Earth 1. Robin and Oracle exist on Earth 1.

@Battabing - Yeah they change it up a lot I guess. My point is Daimen without Bruce would sorta suck. So I think this is a bad idea.

I would be confused as to how a currently MIA Batman and the Talia we have seen could have a child but I guess infinite universes are about to be crushed down to one so anything can happen. With Dick and Jason on Titans I hope this isn’t going to be a case of nobody ever showing Tim any love

Why can't the CW include Batman? What is the reason? They have Superman now which I thought would be much more difficult to pull off.

I agree.. Damian w/o Bruce sounds weird.. doesn’t mean it can’t work.. maybe reference that Damian and Bats were a team until recently.. but then where’s bats and why isn’t his son out there looking for him? Be he was told not to? Lol.. Since when does Damian follow the rules.. there would be too many plot holes.. this would have to lead to Batman’s re-emerging at some point.. sounds interesting.. but I’d leave Damian out .. we’ll have our hands full with Supes Lois and Supes jr

@Deagle -

Supergirl would be getting replaced because Melissa Benoist would be wanting to move on to other things.
Both Supergirl and The Flash have their stars under contract for one more season beyond this one so
it seems likely they will go after Melissa as hard in any extension talks as they would Grant Gustin.

I could easily see both agreeing to two-year extensions. giving the CW 3 years to wrap up their
storylines while keeping them around for three years worth of "Justice League" crossovers
with Superman, Batwoman, the Legends, and Mia Green Arrow.

Seeing as the CW likes to reuse actors I think Daniel Gillies is the best choice for Bruce Wayne, he ready played a vampire, so he should make the jump to the bat.

As for this news Jon Kent has been a welcome addition to the Superman universe, the bad part is he is really aged up now, so it will be nice he is young again.
