Thanks to a timely intervention from Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer), Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was finally able to get his charges dropped and is now a free man, which means when the show returns on February 27th, get ready for the return of the Scarlet Speedster.

We'll have to wait another week or two to get the new synopsis and/or promotional photos, but in the meantime, we do have the new promo with our first look at a new meta with some destructive abilities.

Watch the new promo for episode fourteen, titled "Subject 9," below:

"Subject 9" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

Original airdate 2/27/2018.

Last season, Barry Allen aka The Flash used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother’s life, and inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint. The phenomenon not only gave birth to the villainous God of Speed known as Savitar, but changed the lives of Caitlin Snow and Wally West forever. With the help of his adoptive father, Detective Joe West, his fiancée Iris West, and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs – Cisco Ramon and Harrison Wells -- Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it. But first, he’ll have to escape the Speed Force – an extra-dimensional entity teeming with unknown dangers – that Barry sacrificed himself to in order to save Central City.

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick
Tom Felton as Julian Dorn
Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton
Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man
Neil Sandilands as Clifford DeVoe/The Thinker

Thought this episode was kinda boring. Only redeeming element was, once again, Elongated Man. Thought it was a bit weird for him to give up on being a superhero again (that kinda goes backwards on his character development).

But he made up for it pretending to be Devoe, which was a brilliant idea.

And is it just me, or has Cisco been a complete tool this season? Always yelling or being sarcastic. S1 Cisco was GOAT.

@KWilly - That was my biggest issue with this episode, having Ralph give up. Flash likes to do that a lot with its character, going backwards with development. Cisco even joked about it "shall we see Dr. Hallway"...

Well DeVoe's true machinations just continue to get weirder. But I think we should've seen coming that he would want to use all those metas for something then he wouldn't just need them all in one place but inside of him in fact. He is absorving all the bus metas' powers and Ralph is eventually gonna be the next one.

It still doesn't explain what he plans to do with all of them.

The prison break was cool, seeing Barry come up with that compound. And Becky was the MVP. I felt bad for her, no wonder DeVoe went for her. Now he'll be even more difficult to get or fight, not just because he's in her body but due to having her good luck field.

I wonder how much the Weepers' tears will work on Marlize, the ending was creepy.

I wonder how Becky!DeVoe will look on the Thinking Chair.

Ralph with that save as DeVoe. And I liked how Caitlin changed to Killer Frost to pep him up.

3 weeks. Oh well its better than waiting for 9 like with Supergirl.

@NinnesMBC - damn didn't realize it was off for the 3 weeks. And if Supergirl going off air for 9 gives us Legends, then I'm 100% down for it taking more breaks!!

@HeavyMetal4Life - Haha, it's because The CW just wants to air 4 DC shows at the time, no more. Once Legends ends it's S3 run in April then Supergirl will be back.
I hear Black Lightning will also take a break but a shorter one.

Flash and AoS will be back in the same week of February 26th with Flash back on that Tuesday and the latter on the Friday of March 2.

@NinnesMBC - Only other show I remember it being used in was The Critic, season 1 episode 5, “A Little Deb Will Do Ya” (start video at 16:49):

@FlixMentallo21 - I ser. It's been a long while since I saw anything from the critic but it was funny in it's own way.
