THE FLASH: The Emerald Archer Returns In Promo & Photos For S9E9: "It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To"

On the next episode of The Flash, it's Barry's birthday and it looks like his party is going to have a few very special guests as the Green Arrow, Kid Flash, John Diggle, and Bloodwork all drop in!

It's Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) birthday and some of his most kickass friends are coming to visit as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), John Diggle (David Ramsey), and Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) all return to Central City to celebrate - and help the Scarlet Speedster in his time of need when Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy) resurfaces.

While special appearances from Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) or Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) would've been welcome, this episode is arguably the biggest crossover event the Arrowverse has seen since "Crisis on Infinite Earths" in 2019 and it looks like the network is billing it as essentially the end of the Arrowverse.

Series regular Danielle Panabaker is directing. This will be the fifth episode she's helmed, following "Godspeed" in season five, "License to Elongate" in season six, "Rayo de Luz" in season seven, and "Keep It Dark" in season eight.

While The CW has already started promoting the hour, the episode won't actually air until April 26th, so fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see the Flash and Green Arrow team up one last time. It'll also kick off the show's final run of episodes, with the series finale now set for May 24.

Check out the new promo for episode nine, titled "Partners in Time," below:

The main cast of The Flash season nine features Grant Gustin ("Barry Allen/The Flash"), Candice Patton ("Iris West-Allen"), Danielle Panabaker ("Dr. Caitlin Snow"), Danielle Nicolet ("Cecile Horton"), Kayla Compton ("Allegra Garcia"), Brandon McKnight ("Chester P. Runk"), and Jon Cor ("Mark Blaine/Chillblaine").

Flash has gone to shit and Arrow actually had a good time ending unlike any of these other shows, why ruin it by giving him to a crappy showrunner

I like how the synopsis completely glosses over the fact Oliver came back to life. Just casually "he's going to Barry's birthday party" like that's totally normal.

@Origame - I didn’t see Oliver there. Looks like he found him in the multiverse

@DeBlawqPantur - again, read the description here. It just lists Oliver as one of the people going to Barry's birthday as if nothing is weird about that.

Time for this whole garbage CW DC to die. (Should have happened years ago.)

Oh, they're letting the racist woman direct, huh. Cool for her.

What's the narrative reason for Oliver being alive again?

Episode 9, not 8, btw

The show needs to show something, Season 9 may go down as one of the worst final seasons ever

It's funny because people still watch the show regardless of how many people here want to bitch and complain about it lol.

Watch eric wallace ruin this just like he has when he took over the flash since season 6.

By the trailer and the weird lighting watch it end up oliver wasn't even really there it was all a dream after being spiked at the party LOL

I have no faith in eric wallace, the dude said he couldn't do a legends wrap up cause of only having 13 episodes and most of them so far have been filler pointless episodes

Can I just say, this was another case where I enjoyed seeing a live-action appearance by a voice actor who I've heard in a lot of the cartoons I watched growing up.

In this instance, one of the inspectors being played by Peter Kelamis, best known as Rolf on Ed, Edd n' Eddy; Dr. Stinger on Super Duper Sumos; and as one of the initial dub voices of Goku in the Ocean Productions dub of Dragon Ball Z and its first three movies.
