So this trailer says "in theaters everywhere march 6th." Does this mean the release date won't be pushed back???

wth was that? Rorshach sounds like his line was dubbed over by a fourteen year old who couldnt remember the full line, that was just wierd.

Speculation: Schneider rushed to release this to put more pressure on FOX to let it come out on time and didnt go through the normal ad production channels.

After rereading Watchmen yesterday, I can see how he is going to angle the ending now. I still do not support it. It disregards the kidnapping of artists, psychic scientists, etc. and the island - most of the reason why Comedian was killed. Now, I think that is a pretty big deal. The dialogue plays well for Snyder's ending, but I think there is also more than just the island and kidnappings that make this ending hollow - Black Freighter. I find it to be very relevant to the rest of the novel. With the inclusion of it (I know it won't be in theatres, but he is releasing it), I believe this detracts from his own squidless ending. Ozymandias already looks like trash to me. He is scrawny... not someone I would think would be able to catch a bullet. I had my doubts about the actor playing Dreiberg, but I believe he may pull the character well - not sure though. All of what Snyder is putting out, to me, makes the film look bad. Too much action, not enough character development. I still think this is an unfilmable movie unless it was to be made three or more hours to allow for proper character development. Then, again, I am a fan of direct translation from paper to film (i.e. Sin City). I am still anticipating at least stills of many of the Crimebusters in their "human" form - Kovacs, Osterman, Dreiberg, Mason, Laurie (what a nasty last name), Sally. These matter as much to me as their costumed forms. The Minutemen might be my favorite part of the film since there won't be a karge amount of acting on their part, and their costumes do look impressive. Watchmen is more in-depth than slow-motion action and clever soliloquies. What I pray for is the inclusion of the squid ending with the option to have Black Freighter weaved into the movie on the dvd. I will probably not see this movie in theatres if this option is available. Also, I hope that Fox makes at least one squid joke during any of the talks, trials, etc. while collecting their rightful money.

Weird that this aired during 24, a Fox show.

Anyone? Anyone?

I think you are reading to much into it being on FOX. Settle down now.

Couldn't disagree more Hyson. Cut them f'n pirates out and they will not be missed right along with that dumb squid....unless it's played by Early Cuyler.

WOMERNS LIKE IT, LONG LIVE THE KING!

Hmmm... This aired during 24? Sounds Kinda fishy to me. All this drama surrounding the movie is just as complicated as the book. I agree with Hyson about the squid. But thats pretty much all I agree with. Dr. Fever, how could you say "cut out the squid"? It's what pulls everything together in the end and prob the most memorable thing in the whole book.

So much for the FOX boycott...since SOMEONE had to be watching Fox to know this aired.

wasn't me, besides my boycott is contingent on them delaying the release date, if they do the boycott begins, since they haven't done it yet I'm not yet boycotting them.

Ever since this thing started, I've been hearing all this talk of "Boycott Fox!". Well, to do that correctly, the determined boycotter should go to their parent company's website (News Corporation), to learn all of the company's holdings that need to be boycotted. Guess what? Among this company's properties are MySpace, Rotten Tomatoes, and Hulu. I don't know about anyone else, but I visit these sites frequently. Besides, the whole thing is a money grab, so the film WILL be released on time. Watch and see.

And Hyson? I'm with you, buddy. Changing the ending of a story like the Watchmen destroys its whole point. It's like if Peter Jackson changed Lord of the Rings to have a big showdown between Frodo and Sauron rather than have Frodo throw the Ring into the Cracks of Doom (with some unintended help from Gollum). Everything in the Watchmen builds towards a huge, if ultimately false, alien threat that will unite mankind. Nuclear war would only deepen differences between nations, and create a whole new set of grudges and problems between them. That ignores the whole point of Ozymandius' actions and machinations behind the scenes throughout the story.

Its a rather similar plot its not equivalent to what you suggested about a lotr change, its still an essentially alien power that the public would be encouraged to fear, and Doc manhat is easily sociopathic enough to go along with the whole deal, besides which in the new ending ozy tricks manhat which seems plausible since in the book he is unable to foresee the giant squid because of some effect produced by ozy.

The websites you mentioned I care not at all for so that wont be hard for me, though I suppose the point of a boycott is that you actually change your behavior, anyhow meh.
