After ABC axed her show earlier this year and then she found herself at the end of the line in Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, it was easy to wonder whether we'd ever see Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter again and while there have been rumblings of something happening over the past few months, nothing has been concrete... until now, that is.
Atwell has been tapped to reprise her fan-favorite role as Peggy Carter for the upcoming fourth season of their DisneyXD series Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which has now been retitled - Marvel's Avengers: Secret Wars. Her episode will be a time-travelling affair as Agent Carter & Howard Stark will team-up with Captain America & Iron Man to defeat Kang the Conqueror.
It may not be the return many were expecting, but as the old saying goes, some Peggy in your life is always better than none. Additionally, the upcoming season is expected to further incorporate several classic Marvel heroes, including the Black Panther & Ant-Man. There's no release date, but expect the season to premiere sometime in 2017.
