LOKI Season 2 Set Photos Reveal A Costumed Sylvie And The God Of Mischief Back In His TVA Uniform

The latest photos from the set of Loki show more of the God of Mischief and Sylvie in the 1970s, though the latter is now back in costume. What's happening? Check out these latest shots after the jump!

Another round of photos from the set of Loki have found their way online, and we once again return to that 1970s-era McDonalds. This time, we get to see Sylvie's (Sophia Di Martino) old costume beneath her work uniform and more of Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief.

We don't know exactly what's going on here outside of Loki once again working for the Time Variance Authority, and there's every chance this could be the TVA he found himself in at the end of season 1 (where it's ruled over by a Kang the Conqueror Variant). Either way, this reunion promises to be very interesting.

What we do know is that the Sacred Timeline is no more, so the TVA can now jump between realities and all manner of timelines. That should lead to lots of Multiversal madness.

There had been plans for Loki's first season to be set during the 1970s, and it looks like that period will potentially be a big part of this next batch of episodes. After killing He Who Remains and losing Loki, Sylvie may well have chosen to take refuge in this timeline; it's hard to say for sure.

Regardless, Loki remains the only Marvel Studios TV series on Disney+ to get a season 2, and following the departures of director Kate Herron and Head Writer Michael Waldron, season 1 scribe Eric Martin is taking over the latter's role. That's no bad thing based on his previous work, while Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are also on board.

There's no word on a premiere date for Loki season 2, but the belief is that it will be released on Disney+ shortly after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (which hits theaters on February 17, 2023). Jonathan Majors will return as Kang in the threequel, though we expect to see him in this series as well.

@Kumkani -
The movie is going to be cancelled. They just cancelled Batgirl because it led directly on from The Flash.

They are just waiting until they have a 'win' so they can try and cancel Flash while everyone is distracted - plus without mentioning it at SDCC most the general audience will have forgotten it's a thing by the time they cancel it.

Slyvie is the main character of the show. Loki is shown repeatedly as incompetent. Him watching a potential future is not something that actually progresses his character. He ended up being wasted in a show that served entirely as a bait-and-switch because they did not have enough faith in the new female replacement character they were trying to push to actually name the show after her - and when they do name a show after its female lead they shove in a bunch of popular male characters to prop it up.

People went to this show to see Tom Hiddleston, but instead it's entirely devoted to making his character seem pathetic including almost a large part of an episode having him be kicked in the balls over and over.

@Scarilian - "including almost a large part of an episode having him be kicked in the balls over and over."

You consider getting kicked in the balls 3 times over the span of 3 minutes a "large" part of a 45 minute episode?

@Scarilian - I do not consider Sylvie the lead character of Loki S1. It's Endgame-variant Loki and possibly Mobius as the co-lead. I see Sylvie as the top supporting character.

S2 is much more likely to be co-leads, but S1 wasn't it, IMHO.

You know what I would love? A Loki show that is actually Lokiesque. Full of fantasy realms, plotting and sorcery.

Hopefully this second season really leans into Kang. If he's really going to be the next Avengers villain, they need to build him up, and Ant-Man 3 can't be the only place that happens.

Nothing like going for a snack before fixing the multiple alternate timelines.
