The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Jessica Gao has been hired as the head writer for Marvel's
She-Hulk. Her name may not be instantly familiar, but it should be because she won an Emmy for her work on
Rick & Morty (specifically the amazing "Pickle Rick" episode). Gao has also written episodes of
Silicon Valley and the pilot episode of ABC's
Lazy Rich Asians.
In related news, Jeremy Slater is set to serve as
Moon Knight's head writer.
He developed and created Netflix's adaptation of
The Umbrella Academy and is no stranger to the world of comic books. He's credited as a co-writer on the 2015
Fantastic Four reboot, but, in fairness, much of what was in the script didn't really end up on screen after those extensive reshoots. He has a lot of credits to his name, though, including
Death Note and TV's
The Exorcist.
Now, we can expect to see both
She-Hulk and
Moon Knight begin to take shape, as Marvel Studios should start looking for directors and then the actors who will play these characters on Disney+.
Staty tuned for updates.
