The social media embargo for Ms. Marvel lifted yesterday, and the first reactions were glowing. This latest MCU-set Disney+ series is shaping up to be one of the streamer's most fun, accessible shows, and if the first two episodes are any indication, fans of the character are going to be very pleased (even if her powers have been altered).
Now, a series of character posters for the show have been spotted on an LA street (we'll update as soon as they're officially released), giving us another look at Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan, her parents Yusef and Zenobia, best friends Bruno and Nakia, and brother Amir alongside his fiance Tyesha.
The banners also spotlight Kamala's potential love-interest Kamran, who is a Nuhuman in the comics with powers of his own. Will the show follow suit? Let's just say there is a strong indication that he's keeping a few secrets!
"Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City," reads the updated synopsis. "An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?"
Ms. Marvel also stars Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.
