MS. MARVEL Could Be Coming To Disney+ Later Than Expected According To One Of The Show's Stars

Ms. Marvel was originally expected to premiere this year, though it's since been reported that it will debut in early 2022. However, if one of the show's stars is to be believed, it will be even later...

It looked like Ms. Marvel was going to arrive on Disney+ at the end of this year, but with Hawkeye and The Book of Boba Fett on the way to the streaming service, there wasn't really much room left for Kamala Khan. As a result, we've been assuming the show would premiere in early 2022, but apparently not!

Talking to a fan on social media recently, Ms. Marvel star Mohan Kapur (who plays Kamala's father, Yusuf) claimed that the series won't actually arrive until June/July next year.

That does make sense in some respects; The Marvels arrives in theaters in July, so Ms. Marvel could then lead directly into the Captain Marvel sequel. However, that doesn't give casual fans much time to make sure they're fully up to date with the show before heading to their local multiplex to see Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel, and Spectrum in action together.

It's entirely possible Kapur has got the wrong end of the stick here, especially as Marvel Studios has yet to announce its 2022 slate on Disney+ (we expect that to change during November's Disney+ Day). Until an official premiere date is revealed, though, it does seem like we could be waiting for Ms. Marvel a little longer than anticipated.

Hopefully, the series will be worth the wait. We know Marvel Studios is set to make some changes to the source material as Kamala's powers are likely going to come from Kree technology rather than her being an Inhuman. That's a shame, but was to be expected when those characters aren't (currently) part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Keep checking back here for Ms. Marvel updates.

Makes sense. Especially after getting the Hawkeye trailer, there was no logical open window for Ms. Marvel this year. Between the movies released in theaters, and Shang-Chi coming to Disney+, and again Hawkeye, they're very well covered.

If I had my way there would be no gap at all between the Disney+ shows. When one ended another would start right up the following week. Since that ain't happening for various reasons, I'll just wait until the official release schedule is announced to get hyped or not then.

@Mugens - I saw someone post a list on here where the movies and the tv shows all came after each other with a one week break and it all fit perfectly. I'm kinda amazed that wasn't Marvel's slate either

@bkmeijer - I think pre pandemic that was the plan

@ShimmyShimmyYA - I think that list was from this januari, so it already took into account the new premiere dates from the shows and movies

@bkmeijer - That's operating under the notion that everyone is watching these all consistently weekly. You need to leave people wanting more, and give them a chance to stay caught up with this massive story.

@MosquitoFarmer - yeah that makes sense. And I hope that it their strategy. Four shows is in my opinion enough in a year

Wonder how many shows we're getting next year. Moon Knight is probably the first, but after that I expected Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion (but I guess they swap those two around). Then She-Hulk, Ironheart and Armor Wars maybe?

I'll give it a chance, but I pretty much have zero interest in this show.

I don’t understand why Disney+ doesn’t want Star Wars and Marvel to overlap. It’s not like fans are going to care. We are capable of watching two episodes in the same week.

@Liverpool4life - well it already did with Loki and The Bad Batch, and yeah you're right. Was more than easy to watch both of 'em in the same week

@Liverpool4life - personally I’m glad it’s one a week. They’re treating it like goin to the movies and so am I.

I miss having intricate release schedules for Marvel dropped a year or more in advance.

The Marvels does not release in July, Josh. It releases in November. Black Panther 2 is slated for July, Josh. How could you make such a simple mistake when a google search was one click away?
