Today, Disney+ has released Marvel Studios' A Fan’s Guide to Ms. Marvel, a documentary short now available on the streaming service. If, like many people out there, you're not overly familiar with Kamala Khan's comic book adventures, then this sounds like a good place to get a head start on getting to know the hero.

A Fan’s Guide to Ms. Marvel offers an exclusive look behind the upcoming original series, Ms. Marvel, from its comic book origins to its development and production as Marvel Studios' next hit series on Disney+. It features interviews with its awarding-winning filmmaking team and the show’s captivating star, newcomer Iman Vellani.

The review embargo for Ms. Marvel lifts on June 6, two days before the show premieres. Critics have been treated to the first two episodes, and we'll be sharing our verdict next week in order to give you a better idea of what to expect.

"Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?"

Joining Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the show are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. Bisha K. Ali is the show's Head Writer, while episodes were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ on June 8.
