It looks like She-Hulk will be facing off against one of her most infamous adversaries in the upcoming Disney+ series, and Jameela Jamil has reportedly signed on to play her.
According to The Illuminerdi, The Good Place breakout star has joined the cast of the Marvel Studios show as Titania, one of Jennifer Walters' most formidable opponents in the comics. Apparently, this is the "Lucy" character we heard about before the series entered production, and if the accompanying description proves to be accurate, Disney+ will be taking the villain in an intriguing new direction.
This take on Titania is said to be a "Kardashian-esque social media influencer in her 30s with a dark side." This would obviously be a very different origin for Mary McPherran, who was given super-human strength, stamina and durability (the powers of a Titan) by Doctor Doom during Secret Wars in the comics.
As reliable as the source usually is, we'll have to treat this as a rumor for the time being. It'll probably be a while before we get am official look at Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk, but you can check out some set photos here.
If cast, Jamil would join Maslany (Orphan Black) as Jennifer Walters, Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry as a character named Amelia, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Tim Roth as Abomination and Ginger Gonzaga as Walters’ best friend (most likely Jill Stevens).
Dead To Me director Kat Coiro wil helm the pilot and several other episodes, while Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao will lead the writers room.
