"Four detectives. Four timelines. One body.”

The first trailer for Netflix's adaptation of Si Spencer's Bodies raised a few eyebrows and the latest footage is shedding a little more light on what viewers have in store when the British miniseries drops on October 19. Check out the new trailer below.

The 2014 Vertigo Comics eight-issue miniseries, which has subsequently been compiled as a graphic novel, follows the London-based mystery of a murder victim whose origins trace back to 1890 and extend all the way to the post-apocalyptic future of 2050.

The show is drawing comparisons to the German sci-fi thriller, Dark, which revolved around a child's disappearance that ultimately led to sinister time-traveling machinations. The show ran for three seasons from 2017 to 2020. Some fans are even pondering whether Dark took inspiration from Spencer's comic.

Netflix's adaptation of Bodies is spearheaded by Paul Tomalin (Torchwood) and stars Stephen Graham (Peaky Blinders,The Irishman) as Elias Mannix, Shira Haas (Unorthodox) as Detective Constable Maplewood, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit) will be playing Detective Sergeant Whiteman, Amaka Okafor (The Sandman) as Detective Sergeant Hasan, and Kyle Soller (Anna Karenina) as Detective Inspector Hillinghead.

In describing the series, Tomalin teased, "It’s a police-procedural show that shifts and transforms from moment to moment, so you never know what’s coming next… This is a kinetic, ambitious thrill ride — a wolf in [a] detective drama’s clothing."

Bodies is listed on Netflix as an eight-part miniseries with one-hour episodes. On October 19th, the streamer will distribute all 8 episodes simultaneously around the world.

With such an interesting premise, Netflix might have a sleeper hit on its hands with Bodies. Do you plan on watching the series when it's released? Let us know in the comment section below.

Four detectives, living in four different eras, find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel. They soon come to realize their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over 150 years.

The Vertigo Comics miniseries presented a mystery with four detectives, four time periods, and four dead bodies – all set in London. Edmond Hillinghead is an 1890s overachiever who's trying to solve a murder no one cares about while hiding his own secret. Karl Whiteman is our dashing 1940s adventurer with a shocking past. Shahara Hasan is 2014's kickass female Detective Sergeant, who walks the line between religion and power. And Maplewood, an amnesiac from post-apocalyptic 2050, brings a haunting perspective to it all.
