THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Disney+ Trailer Reveals New Shot Of A Downed Star Destroyer On Coruscant

An extended version of the new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 streaming on Disney+ offers a new look at a downed Star Destroyer on Coruscant, but what does that tell us about the show? Check it out!

The Mandalorian season 3 dropped an epic new trailer earlier this week (check out our breakdown by clicking here), but the version currently streaming on Disney+ is a little different.

Around the 1:00 mark, the "On March 1" shot is replaced with a scene featuring a Star Destroyer that's been grounded on Coruscant. As you can tell from a screenshot in the Reddit post below (first shared on SFFGazette.com), it's hard to say exactly what context it's being shown in, though the ship does appear to be in a state of disrepair.

With The Mandalorian taking place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, there's a lot of excitement to see what's become of the planet in the wake of Emperor Palpatine's defeat. Colin Trevorrow had planned to reveal that the Jedi Temple was a refuge for former Stormtroopers in his version of Episode IX, with the First Order having regained control of Coruscant.

We're not sure what The Mandalorian has planned, but a return to the planet is long overdue, and it seems the Empire still has some sort of presence there...even if it's just their downed vessels!

Take a closer look at this screenshot below.

In season 3, the journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.

The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito.

It's also been confirmed that The Mandalorian's directing team will be comprised of Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard, a mixture of newcomers and returning fan-favourites we're sure have heaps of exciting ideas for this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1.

Bottom left of pic is rope and pillars exactly like one would find here on Earth in our lifetime. Is this a water vessel or what the heck are those doing existing in the SW universe on Corusant?!

@WarMonkey - more like fuel or power lines, you can find them in any dock in Star Wars. More similar to plane hangars, if you'd like to find a real world comparison

@FrankieDedo - For a smaller ship like an X-Wing sure that makes sense but this is a Star Destroyer and those aren't very big at all. Amount of fuel that could be pumped through them would take ages to fuel the ship that large. You're prob right though.

@WarMonkey - Yeah, but they are on a building much higher than the star destroyer dock, probably a smaller dock (or something completely unrelated)

About time we're returning to Coruscant post-RotJ. Really want to see it's state and how i functions (like a scrapyard I suppose) in this New Republic era

That is a very small Star Destroyer. Smaller than a cruise ship.
